Skies are cloudy and snow filled as you leave the house or apt, but mainly early on. (Credit: CBS2) A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued through the overnight hours until 11 a.m. on Wednesday. The National Weather Service is urging commuters to budget in extra time for their trip to work in the morning. The New York City Emergency Management Department also issued a travel advisory for Wednesday’s commute. “As the rain transitions to snow Wednesday morning, you could face messy road conditions during your morning commute. Winter Weather Advisory, Hypothermia Alert Issued For Montgomery
SILVER SPRING, MD — The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory and a Hypothermia Alert for Montgomery County. The winter weather advisory will be in effect from 2 to 8 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11. Forecasters call for one to two inches of now, with isolated totals of 3 inches possible for elevations above 1,000 feet. Hazardous conditions could impact your Wednesday morning commute. The Hypothermia Alert will be in effect from midnight to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11. The county issues a Hypothermia Alert when temperatures drop below 32 degrees, making it more likely for people to get hypothermia and frostbite. Officials said they are particularly concerned for children, seniors, homeless individuals, and animals. To keep the public safe, Montgomery County has published a list of tips on its website.
