WINDSOR, Va. (CNN) — One of the police officers accused of using excessive force in a Virginia traffic stop has been fired following an investigation, the town manager said late Sunday. The Windsor, Virginia, officers pointed guns at, pepper sprayed, and pushed a Black US Army officer to the ground during the traffic stop last December. During the stop, the police officers believed the Army officer was missing a license plate on his new SUV. JACKSON, MISSISSIPPI - Officials in Mississippi's largest city, Jackson, are aiming to have running water largely restored by the weekend, nearly three weeks after devastating winter weather left tens of thousands of residents without service. The city was again distributing non-potable water Friday at four sites so people can flush their toilets, and residents must still boil any faucet water before using it for food preparation, drinking, washing dishes or brushing teeth. Farmer Finds Car Stuck Under His Truck, 2 Dead Inside
A farmer in southern Vermont found a car wedged under the back of his truck Thursday evening, discovering two dead occupants inside, police said. Matthew Williams, 29, told Bennington police he thought he had blown a tire on his truck as he drove on the road, the Associated Press (AP) reported . Williams said he pulled into a nearby open field and discovered a Toyota Camry had become wedged underneath his large farming truck, a New Leader Dry Hauler used to spread fertilizer.
