BOSTON (CBS) — For the first time in his Hall of Fame career, Tom Brady is heading toward free agency. He never received a contract extension from the Patriots and will be an unrestricted free agent when the season ends, which has led to endless hours of speculation about his future with the franchise. Add in some truly anemic performances from the New England offense, with a sprinkling of bitter Brady press conferences, and there’s a feeling around New England that this could be it for Brady and the team. Whether he retires or leaves New England to play elsewhere remains to be seen, but there is plenty of speculation surrounding the future of the GOAT. Tom Brady Sr. has now weighed in on the situation, and made it clear that his son wants to keep playing. Tom Sr. has a tough time envisioning his son playing for anyone but the Patriots, but he said that decision won’t be Brady’s to make; it lies on the shoulders of head coach Bill Belichick. “It’s … [Read more...] about Will Tom Brady Be Back With Patriots In 2020? BOSTON (CBS) — Tom Brady has popped back up on the Patriots injury report this week, limited at Thursday’s practice with both an elbow and a toe injury. The fact that his toe made the injury report tickled the New England quarterback when he was asked about the ailment Thursday night. “That might be the first time my toe’s ever been on the injury report,” Brady said with a chuckle during his interview with Jim Gray on Westwood One. “You know us Patriots. We’re pretty diligent about listing everything, so I guess we have to make mention of my toe now as well.” Yes, you read that correctly. Tom Brady laughed, and it was a genuine chuckle and not that awkward chortle he usually shares with Gray. Brady laughing hasn’t happened too much over the last few weeks, but the quarterback was in a rather chipper mood Thursday evening. He even had another joke lined up when he was asked about his ailing elbow. “Isn’t there some HIPAA … [Read more...] about Tom Brady Laughs Off Toe Injury: Patriots ‘Pretty Diligent About Listing Everything’
BOSTON (CBS) — It is Friday afternoon, and in just over 48 hours, the Patriots will take on the Kansas City Chiefs in an important AFC clash. The Patriots, however, still do not have a kicker on their roster. The Patriots may re-sign veteran kicker Nick Folk ahead of Sunday’s game, but Ian Rapoport backed off that report shortly after he Tweeted it out Friday morning. Patriots head coach Bill Belichick didn’t offer any info when asked about the team’s kicking situation Friday morning, so the mystery continues. But we can cross at least one person off the list of potential kickers on Sunday: Tom Brady. The Patriots quarterback had some fun toward the end of his Friday afternoon press conference when ESPN Boston’s Mike Reiss asked if Brady popped up on Thursday’s injury report with a toe injury because he was practicing putting the ball through the uprights. “Nope, that’s not how I hurt it,” Brady said with a grin. “And … [Read more...] about Tom Brady Is NOT The Patriots New Kicker
When nine sheep disappeared from their pasture in Yellow Springs, Ohio, last month, there were no volunteer-organized search parties. No flashlights waving about in the darkness, no ears cocked to hear a distant bleat, no portraits on milk cartons. The months-long battle between the impassioned activists who hoped to save the animals, and Antioch College—who planned to slaughter them—will end on Saturday with a three-hour vigil in honor of the lambs. Because the animals are dead. We think. It all began last spring when the then-baby lambs were let loose in their solar-panel-adorned meadow on the campus of the private liberal arts school. The lambs were part of a “living laboratory” and sustainability program on the Antioch College Farm, and the school said that—once they matured into sheep—they would feed students in the nearby dining hall. Over the next several months, fevered activists led by Dr. David Nibert, a neighbor of the college and a … [Read more...] about Nine Lambs at Center of Antioch College Animal-Rights Fight Are Missing.
