Numerous people claimed that a spokesman for the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office defended alleged Atlanta, Georgia, massage parlor shooter Robert Aaron Long after taking the spokesman’s comments out of context. “Um, when I spoke to investigators – they interviewed him this morning – and they got that impression, that yes, he understood the gravity of it and he was pretty much fed up and he kind of at the end of his rope and yesterday was a really bad day for him and this is what he did,” spokesman Capt. Jay Baker said during the Wednesday press conference. However, many people only included part of Baker’s comments, such as, “Yesterday was a really bad day for him and this is what he did,” and claimed the comments excused the … [Read more...] about Sheriff’s Out-Of-Context Quotes About Atlanta Shooter Spark Outrage

Ng: In Defense of Clint Eastwood’s ‘Gran Torino,’ Now Under Attack from Left-Wing Cancel Mob
It was only a matter of time before the left-wing cancel mob came for Gran Torino , Clint Eastwood’s 2008 movie about a bigoted retired autoworker and his Asian Hmong neighbors. The racial epithets spewed by protagonist Walt Kowalski are so prolific that it’s hard to imagine the movie being released under today’s ultra-woke Hollywood standards. Anyone who’s seen Gran Torino and has half a brain will easily grasp that the movie is the opposite of racist. After Walt catches Thao, the Hmong teenager next door, trying to steal his cherished 1972 Gran Torino, he puts the boy to work fixing houses around the neighborhood. Walt grudgingly becomes his mentor, his friend, and eventually his father figure. In the end, he makes the ultimate sacrifice to protect Thao and his family from local Hmong gangbangers. None of that matters anymore because Gran Torino is now officially problematic. The wave of physical assaults on Asian Americans has unleashed a woke backlash against the movie … [Read more...] about Ng: In Defense of Clint Eastwood’s ‘Gran Torino,’ Now Under Attack from Left-Wing Cancel Mob
W.H.O. Investigator: Wuhan Market Sold Wildlife from Areas Infested by Virus-Carrying Bats
Nairobi-based Vietnamese biologist Hung Nguyen-Viet, a food safety expert who was among the ten scientists sent by the World Health Organization (W.H.O.) to visit Wuhan, China, in late January, said Monday that he fears wildlife products sold at the now-infamous Huanan Seafood Wholesale Market in Wuhan might have come from areas with large populations of virus-carrying bats, possibly spreading the coronavirus from animals to humans through an intermediate species. This was the scenario classified as the most likely origin of the pandemic in W.H.O.’s report on the Wuhan mission, released last week to considerable skepticism from scientists who said Chinese officials withheld too much vital data from the international team. Skeptics also noted there was a remarkable lack of evidence for the animal-transmission theory, even though W.H.O. concluded it was the most probable scenario. Hung did not comment at length on the data withheld by China, saying the compilation … [Read more...] about W.H.O. Investigator: Wuhan Market Sold Wildlife from Areas Infested by Virus-Carrying Bats
China: Claiming Coronavirus Originated Here Is a ‘Conspiracy Theory’
China’s Global Times , a newspaper published by the government, dismissed Thursday the widely accepted consensus that the Chinese coronavirus originated in Hubei province, China, as a “conspiracy theory” that did not deserve free speech safeguards. The first cases of Chinese coronavirus infections in human beings were documented in Wuhan, the capital of Hubei, in late 2019. No evidence exists suggesting that any cases of human infection were documented before November 17, 2019, the date leaked Chinese government documents reportedly listed as that in which doctors confirmed the first Wuhan case. Beijing has publicly only accepted that cases existed within its borders as of December of that year, arguing that evidence of cases in places like Italy, which has a high concentration of Chinese immigrants, before December suggest a foreign origin for the novel coronavirus. The Chinese Communist Party has also increasingly pressured the World Health Organization (W.H.O.) to launch … [Read more...] about China: Claiming Coronavirus Originated Here Is a ‘Conspiracy Theory’
