Median home prices fell everywhere in the Bay Area except Solano County in June

August 3, 2022 by www.sfgate.com Leave a Comment

Home prices have been falling across the Bay Area this summer as the real estate market continues to cool in response to high inflation and rising interest rates. But one Bay Area county did manage to make small gains in June, according to recent data from the California Association of Realtors . Nearly every Bay Area county saw a drop in median home prices for single-family homes in June 2022 when compared with May, with Marin County seeing the sharpest dip at 14.3%. Alameda County also saw a significant drop at 8.1%, while Napa County saw a 7% decrease and San Francisco County saw a 5.7% decrease. But the often-forgotten Solano County experienced a small increase, with a 1.5% improvement from May to June. Sales are also up 8.7% year over year in Solano County. The continued acceptance of remote work has helped fuel the Solano market, said Tim Garton, an agent with Remax Gold in Vallejo, as people are less hesitant to move far outside the major job markets like Silicon … [Read more...] about Median home prices fell everywhere in the Bay Area except Solano County in June

Use Next and Previous buttons to navigate 9 Solano and Alameda counties on Tuesday were cleared to move into the red tier, the second-most-restrictive category of California’s reopening system. With the move out of the most restrictive purple tier, seven of the Bay Area’s nine counties are now in the red tier, meaning most of the region can enjoy at least limited indoor dining, fitness, movies and museum shows. The changes will take effect in Solano and Alameda counties on Wednesday. Only Contra Costa and Sonoma counties remain in the purple tier, though both are expected to move to red soon. San Francisco is optimistic it will soon move to the orange tier. On Tuesday, Mayor London Breed told the Board of Supervisors the city is “trending fast” toward advancing as soon as March 24. San Mateo County is poised to be the first Bay Area county to move to orange, as early as next week. … [Read more...] about Solano and Alameda counties to move to red tier of California’s reopening: ‘It’s a big deal’
