CBS News Logo Hamsters go on a Valentine’s Day date, this week on The Feed!

This week's most popular viral videos include a cat that's kind of a jerk, poppin' fried gnocchi, snoring like an airplane, GoPro pole vaulting, hamsters on a Valentine's date and Spot the robot struts its stuff. First up, Jennifer Morales shared this video of a "gato malo," or "bad cat" in English. The flippant feline looks her owner right in the eyes before knocking items off the table. Steve, from, can't contain his laughter after his plans to make fried gnocchi take an unexpected turn. He cranks the heat up too high, causing the balls of potato pasta to pop. Best Vine Comps shared this piece of comedic genius. A clever gentleman grabs video of his poor, unsuspecting girlfriend snoring, and uses a toy plane to illustrate exactly what she sounds like. Using a vertical pole to jump over a horizontal pole -- or pole vaulting -- isn't the world's most popular sport. But, it gets a lot more interesting when you shoot it on GoPro cameras. HelloDenizen is back with the fifth installment in their Tiny Hamster series -- "Tiny Hamsters on a Tiny Date." Romance is in the air when the two lovable creatures take a tiny gondola ride and eat some fine cuisine from Tiny Tony's Restaurant. And, meet Spot, the newest robot from Boston Dynamics. It weighs only 160 pounds and will probably render humans useless. Spot is equipped with a sensor in its head that helps it maneuver across rough terrain. But, perhaps most impressive is its ability to keep balanced when kicked from the side. Want more of The Feed? Check out this playlist of every Feed ever! Continue Reading

Courtney Stodden wears VERY revealing red dress for Valentine’s Day date with new boyfriend Chris Sheng

RED HOT The reality star pulled out all the stops for her romantic date night COURTNEY Stodden left little to the imagination for her Valentine’s Day dinner with new boyfriend Chris Sheng. The 23-year-old reality star was bound to turn more than a few heads as she dined at Beverly Hills’ Villa Blanca in a very low-cut red frock. The former Celebrity Big Brother star looked just about able to contain her surgically-enhanced chest in the dress as it’s sweeping neckline sat well below the cleavage. Her date night look was clearly a hit with her entrepreneur boyfriend who seemed unable to keep his hands off the blonde. Before entering the restaurant, the businessman was snapped planting a kiss on the troubled star. Their Valentine’s date came just days after Courtney was pictured moving into Chris’ $3 million Beverly Hills home. The move certainly raised a few eyebrows given that it came mere weeks after she launched a public plea for her ex-husband Doug Hutchison to take her back. Despite having been in a relationship with Chris since June, she wrote on social media: “I need this man back in my life. I need him to come help me.” She continued: “I need him to want our marriage to work. He’s been my only solid rock. Doug, if you read this — this is a public cry for your undying love. I need you.” MOST READ IN TV & SHOWBIZ Rickaay's recliner rumpus EastEnders' Sid Owen jeered as he's thrown off flight in seat row SHUN DIRECTION Cheryl blanks boyfriend Liam Payne after his awkward burger joke falls flat all over Married At First Sight's Harriet & Richard DIVORCE as Steph & Ben stay together HEALTH BATTLE Danniella Westbrook faces more surgery after hell of botched dental implants couple goals The lowdown on Richard and Harriet from Married at First Sight DIE-HARDY FAN Cheryl swoons over hunk Tom Hardy as Liam says he'd give her Continue Reading

Pope Francis invites thousands of engaged couples to Vatican for Valentine’s Day date

It’s a love fest at the Vatican. Pope Francis invited thousands of young engaged couples to the Vatican for a special Valentine’s Day tutorial on love. Nearly 25,000 lovebirds from 30 different countries packed into St. Peter’s Square to listen to the pontiff’s advice about building lasting relationships. Francis warned the couples about today’s “throwaway culture.” "Today, everything is changing rapidly and nothing lasts for long. This sort of mentality leads so many who are getting ready for marriage to say they will be together for as long as love lasts," an attitude that leads to divorce, he said in a translation provided by CNN. On Twitter, he wasted no time in getting straight to the point: don’t be scared to put a ring on it. “Dear young people, don’t be afraid to marry,” the Pope wrote on his @Pontifex handle. “A faithful and fruitful marriage will bring you happiness.” Originally the audience was due to be held inside a Vatican auditorium. But the response from soon-to-wed couples to Francis' invitation for a Valentine's Day date was so great that the event was held in the piazza on a perfect, sunny afternoon after weeks of rain. Francis joked that we all make mistakes and that no one is perfect: "The perfect family doesn't exist, nor the perfect husband nor wife. Let's not even talk about the perfect mother-in-law!" To qualify for the event, which was hosted by the Pontifical Council for the Family, the fiances had to take Catholic courses on marriage. Several young couples were allowed pose their questions directly to the pontiff before being blessed. One couple said that they “didn’t want to give in to the easy way of not committing” but were worried about how to build a lasting marriage. Others spoke of their fears about making “forever” decisions, planning a Continue Reading

Justin Bieber treats cancer-stricken girl to pre-Valentine’s Day ‘date’ in Manhattan

Justin Bieber made a little Massachusetts girl with cancer the envy of millions by flying her to New York for a pre-Valentine’s Day date. Six-year-old Avalanna Routh even got to run her fingers through his famous hair. “I got Bieber fever,” she told NBC News later. Bieber appeared pleased that he could give a little girl who has been in and out of hospitals most of her life a few hours of pure joy. “That was one of the best things I have ever done,'' he tweeted to his 17 million followers. “She was AWESOME. Feeling really inspired right now.” Avalanna has been battling a rare form of cancer since she was a baby, a type called AT/RT that affects the brain — and for which there is no cure. She is also obsessed with the pint-sized pop star. So much so that Avalanna’s nurses at the Jimmy Fund clinic in Boston threw her a pretend wedding with a cardboard cutout of the 17-year-old Bieber and gave her a T-shirt emblazoned with the words “Future Mrs. Bieber.” Bieber learned he had a true fan in Avalanna after her mom started a “Get Avalanna to Meet Justin Bieber” page on Facebook and quickly garnered over 12,000 supporters. Instead of flying up to Boston to meet her, Bieber flew Avalanna and her parents to the city Monday where they played board games, ate cupcakes and candy — and where she styled the pop star’s locks. Avalanna’s mom said she wasblown away by Bieber’s generosity. She said it gives her daughter, who has endured dozens of surgeries and chemotherapy sessions, a reason to fight on. “She's beaten all the odds,” Aileen Routh said. “It's a very aggressive, rare disease, and she's been in treatment for five and a half years.” And if Avalanna ever needs a morale boost, she can read the postings on her Facebook page. “Justin Bieber has finally met his wife!” one of them read. “Mr. And Mrs. Continue Reading

Daily News readers’ favorite Valentine’s Day date movies are all heart

There’s a reason movies make for an ideal date: What’s more romantic than cozying up in the dark, watching something inspiring on screen? And there are plenty of great Valentine’s Day options at the art houses, from “The Awful Truth” at BAM ( to “My Man Godfrey” at Film Forum ( But who says you have to go out? Stay home, dim the lights and pop in any of the classic romances your fellow readers have recommended. Like many, Ann Marie Spinosa suggested “When Harry Met Sally,” because “no film better depicts the ups and downs of love.” Aislinn Shevlin is also wild about “Harry,” but felt compelled to include “Titanic,” “Dirty Dancing,” “Two for the Road” and “Roman Holiday.” “Ooh, and ‘Chocolat’ is great!” she couldn’t help adding. On the other hand, Rhonda Kyle had no trouble narrowing her favorite down to “The one and only: ‘Casablanca.’ It never gets old.” And we’ll assume Ethel Stewart is equally sold on her selection, since all she wrote was “ ‘The Notebook,’ ‘The Notebook,’ ‘The Notebook’ !!!!!” Kwame Ivery offered a somewhat unexpected choice: “Believe it or not, my favorite romantic movie is ‘Rocky.’ I’ve seen it about 30 times, and every time Adrian runs up to Rocky at the end and says ‘I love you,’ a chill shoots through me.” Consider all of the above a little too sentimental? Well, you could go with “A Place in the Sun,” as recommended by Jeffrey Haber. We’ll agree with him that the movie is “very emotional and powerful,” but feel dutybound to share the plot before you use it to seduce anyone: Montgomery Clift gets girlfriend Shelley Winters pregnant, and then plans to kill her when gorgeous debutante Continue Reading
