National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease Director Dr. Anthony Fauci said Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press” that he believed the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention would issue a warning this week to address concerns over extremely rare but severe blood clots resulting from Johnson & Johnson’s COVID vaccine. Fauci said, “I think by Friday, we’ll know which way we’re going on this. Hopefully, we’ll get back on track. But I don’t think there’s going to be anything that’ll linger beyond that. I hope not. Nearly Half Of Nursing Home Workers In Pennsylvania Have Declined COVID-19 Vaccine, State Data Shows
PHILADELPHIA (CBS/AP) – Nearly half of nursing home workers in Pennsylvania have declined to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, according to Pennsylvania Department of Health data. The data released Thursday shows low rates of vaccination among nursing home staff and higher rates of vaccine declined by staff, compared to residents. Statewide, about 45% of staff declined the vaccine while only 12% of residents declined. About 50% of nursing home staff are vaccinated, even though the shots have been available to them for months, compared to 77% of residents.
