close Video Dr. Siegel: Numbers show COVID vaccines are as good as touted The CDC reports 0.01 percent of fully-vaccinated Americans got COVID-19; Fox News medical contributor Dr. Marc Siegel weighs in. The global death toll from the coronavirus surpassed 3 million people Saturday as confirmed cases surge to over 140 million, according to Johns Hopkins University data. The somber milestones arise at a time when vaccine distribution efforts have stumbled after concerns over the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. "This is not the situation we want to be in 16 months into a pandemic, where we have proven control measures," said Maria Van Kerkhove, one of the World Health Organization’s (WHO's) leaders on COVID-19. Mercer University theology professor Chanequa Walker-Barnes wrote a prayer in which she asks God to help her “hate white people,” specifically, “the nice ones,” such as “the Fox News-loving, Trump-supporting voters” who “don’t see color.” She published the “Prayer of a Weary Black Woman” in the book A Rhythm of Prayer: A Collection of Meditations for Renewal. “Dear God, Please help me to hate White people,” the professor began in her prayer, titled, “Prayer of a Weary Black Woman,” which was published in A Rhythm of Prayer: A Collection of Meditations for Renewal edited by Sarah Bessey. “I want to stop caring about them, individually and collectively,” Walker-Barnes continued. “I want to stop caring about their misguided, racist souls, to stop believing that they can be better, that they can stop being racist.” The professor went on to clarify that she is “not talking about the White antiracist allies who have taken up this struggle against racism with their whole … [Read more...] about Mercer U. The World Health Organization (WHO) recently announced that, through its investigation in China into the origins of the COVID-19 pandemic, it determined it was “extremely unlikely” that COVID-19 originated from a lab environment. The WHO made the announcement after visiting the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV), which has been at the center of the “lab-leak” theory which posits that COVID-19 may have originated from a lab after being genetically modified as a part of “ gain-of-function research .” Later the same week, the WHO backtracked , saying that “all possibilities” were still on the table regarding the origin of the virus. ‘A Screeching U Turn’: Once Dismissive, Now The WHO Says Lab Leak Hypothesis Still In Play https://t.co/3EXM3DBrJd — Daily Caller (@DailyCaller) February 12, 2021 The conflicts of interest casting a shadow over the investigation have been well documented. More than a year since its beginning, the true origin of the COVID-19 pandemic is still unknown, but investigations into the matter have uncovered new questions about a scientific practice known as “gain-of-function” research. Most of the scientific community still contends that the novel coronavirus wreaking havoc on the world is of natural origin . Others argue gain-of-function (GoF) research may have potentially played a role, though, and critics have warned for years the field was dangerous enough to cause a pandemic. The simplest explanation of GoF research is that it is the process of taking a disease and making it more dangerous for some kind of scientific benefit. It can take a variety of forms, but the desired outcome is typically to make a disease more contagious, more deadly or both. Former President Donald Trump was heavily criticized for calling COVID-19 the “China Virus” and other similar terms, but geographic identifiers are commonly used to refer to COVID-19 variants. Some have suggested that Trump referring to coronavirus as “China Virus” and “Wuhan Flu” lead to a rise in hate crimes against Asian-Americans. Is this distinction between the “China Virus” and, for example, the “South African variant” a double-standard or a legitimate difference? Several medical experts and scientists told the Daily Caller the difference lies in helping the public understand what’s happening. So there’s an “Indian,” “Brazilian,” “South African,” and “British” variant? But it’s beyond the pale to name Covid as the “Wuhan,” or “China” virus. Personally, I always preferred “CCP-19,” to remind the world who was responsible for the mendacity at the heart of the crisis. https://t.co/e3tXTL7Wll — Mark Dubowitz (@mdubowitz) April 4, 2021 The variants of the virus … [Read more...] about Why Is It Okay To Say ‘South African Variant’ But Not ‘China Virus’?
