The name leans on Donald Trump's campaign catchphrase and, true to form, promises something grand. And though it's built on a shaky foundation -- how many real policies did the former president actually have? -- its $20 million starting budget offers insiders a chance to get paid for continuing to spread Trump's populist message. Michael D'Antonio Trump alumni without independent means are going to need paychecks -- especially after some members of the former administration were reported to be having trouble finding jobs following the deadly … [Read more...] about A Trump policy institute? Polls suggest House Democrats will buck midterm curse and add to their ranks
Conventional wisdom in Washington is that the party in control of the White House usually loses any number of congressional seats in the midterms. In 1994, President Bill Clinton William (Bill) Jefferson Clinton Democratic Rep. Mondaire Jones calls on Breyer to retire Modern biomedical breakthroughs require a federal ethics commission Biden must compel China and Russia to act on climate MORE saw his House majority collapse with the Democrats losing 54 seats and the speaker’s gavel, something that had held true since the Truman Administration. After wresting control back from the GOP in 2006 during the final two years of the George W. Bush Administration, Democrats faced a similar blood bath during the 2010 midterms losing 63 seats in what President Barack Obama aptly described as a “shellacking.” With one of the slimmest majorities for any new president in modern history, President Joe Biden Joe Biden Graham: 'I could not disagree more' with Trump … [Read more...] about Polls suggest House Democrats will buck midterm curse and add to their ranks

‘Real Housewives of the GOP’ — Wannabe reality show narcissists commandeer the party
Donald Trump Donald Trump Graham: 'I could not disagree more' with Trump support of Afghanistan troop withdrawal GOP believes Democrats handing them winning 2022 campaign Former GOP operative installed as NSA top lawyer resigns MORE has proven to be a loser — and a sore one at that — but he has won something. He managed to transform the GOP into a party in his own image: an outsized, narcissistic cast of mini-me sycophants. Just like the maestro, none of them appears to care about actual governing. They’re building their brand first, then following fame and the money. This has transformed the GOP from a party that once had ideas and credibility into a lame variation on the “Real Housewives” reality TV franchise. Forget the red hats. The real mantra of this new GOP isn’t “America First” — it’s “Me First.” Like the TV “Housewives,” these new Republicans seek attention, fame and fortune, ignoring credibility. Their success is sometimes short-lived, and often ends … [Read more...] about ‘Real Housewives of the GOP’ — Wannabe reality show narcissists commandeer the party

U.S. Rep. Ken Buck said Friday that he will not be taking a COVID-19 vaccine . “It is my choice,” the Windsor Republican told Fox Business Channel . “I have the freedom to decide if I’m going to take a vaccine or not and in this case I am not going to take the vaccine.” Government officials in Colorado and elsewhere have urged Americans to take the coronavirus vaccine, which the Trump administration’s Operation Warp Speed began distributing this week. On Friday, Vice President Mike Pence, his wife Karen and Surgeon General Jerome Adams received the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine on television to raise awareness and confidence in the injection, which has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration following clinical trials . Buck praised the vaccine on social media and in remarks to The Denver Post on Friday, calling it “great” and “an absolute miracle” that will save lives. But on Fox Business, he voiced concerns about possible adverse side effects from it. “I am … [Read more...] about As leaders urge Americans to get vaccinated, Colorado’s Ken Buck says he won’t
