Robert and Amber Everson were holding an event for their community when the food truck they owned exploded. That same community gave back by raising money for their medical expenses. Last week, the couple was finishing up a community event with their food truck, Bama BBQ 4 Ever , in Arizona when Robert heard whooshing sounds coming from the truck. When he opened the top of a gas tank, gas erupted, and there was a loud explosion. Robert was flung from the front of the truck, and his chef’s jacket caught fire. His wife, Amber, stumbled out the back. “I was pulling my chef jacket off … pulling it off, and all my skin on my arms, ears, back, neck, chest … everything just kind of came off with it,” Robert told KPNX. “And she’s coming out the back of the truck; you can see flames on her legs.” Both Robert and Amber are recovering in a burn unit. PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The Pittsburgh Steelers’ Mike Adams continues to recover in a local hospital today after police say he was stabbed overnight during an attempted carjacking on the South Side. According to police, 23-year-old Adams suffered stab wounds to his abdomen and left forearm. He was taken to UPMC Mercy Hospital where he underwent surgery. LA MIRADA (CBSLA) — The northbound lanes of the 5 Freeway in La Mirada were shut down Monday after hundreds of gallons of corrosive acid spilled into lanes from a big rig crash. (credit: CBS) The crash between a big rig and a sedan happened at about 10:15 a.m. on the southbound 5 Freeway at Valley View Avenue. Debris flew into the northbound lanes, and the CHP reported the semi was leaking fuel from the collision. The crash caused the truck’s diesel fuel tank to rupture, spilling about 60 gallons onto lanes.
