Turnout was low, with about 1,600 of the town's 17,500 registered voters coming out the polls. The $67.8 million school budget passed by a count of 978 to 604. The $41.8 million town budget passed in a 1,059-519 vote. The $109.6 million budget increases spending by 4.28 percent, according to The Danbury News-Times. That hasn’t happened in a while, maybe not since the American League Championship Series of 2019, one the Astros won with that buzzer-beating walk-off homer from our old friend, Jose Altuve. They’ve definitely looked great so far, as just about everything possible has broken exactly right for them. They’ve been carried by their pitching, both starting and relief, by Aaron Judge and their other starting forward, Giancarlo Stanton.
