DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (CBSNewYork/AP) — Times Square ‘s “ Naked Cowboy ” was arrested on a misdemeanor panhandling charge at Bike Week in Daytona Beach, Florida . Court records show Robert Burck , 51, who is widely known for wearing only white briefs, boots and a cowboy hat while playing a brightly colored guitar, was arrested Saturday while performing at the annual event on Florida’s Atlantic coast. Burck is a regular at Bike Week. The United States on Monday reaffirmed its commitment to Saudi Arabia’s defense in the face of increased drone and missile attacks by Iran-backed Houthi separatists in Yemen, underscoring American commitment to its Gulf ally despite human rights concerns. The U.S. embassy in Saudi Arabia tweeted in Arabic that its commitment to defending the Kingdom’s security is “unwavering,” following a rising number of back and forth attacks between Riyadh and the Houthis, the latest targeting Saudi oil facilities. “The US Embassy condemns the recent Houthi attacks on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The heinous Houthi attacks on civilians and vital infrastructure demonstrate their lack of respect for human life and their interest in the pursuit of peace,” the embassy tweeted in Arabic. The most important factor to winning a violent attack is what we have inside us. It’s that ability to spot trouble, the ability to avoid it if we can and that ability to deal with it decisively when there are no other options. My job is really not to teach so much as it is to try to get people to think, evaluate their own situation and find ways to improve that situation. My situation is that I live in an area that really has very little violent crime, the rural Southwest. I have to continually fight the inclination to become complacent. After all, bad things rarely happen around here. All of that changes, I have to remind myself, if I become the victim of that rare criminal attack.
