Joe Biden’s ‘War on Women’: Education Department Denies Request to Affirm Title IX Male/Female Sex
The Biden Department of Education has denied a request by a feminist organization to affirm that Title IX regulations will be enforced based on a definition of “sex” as male/female biological sex, and not what individuals believe to be their sex, or, gender identity. In February, Women’s Liberation Front (WoLF) petitioned the education department’s Office for Civil Rights (OCR), requesting that, in amendments to regulations implementing Title IX, “sex” be defined as biological sex and that single-sex spaces, such as those concerning women’s sports teams, be maintained. The Department of Education responded on Wednesday to WoLF’s petition for rulemaking, declining the request to affirm that Title IX will be enforced on the basis of sex but outlining next steps and inviting public participation. https://t.co/jVx8JnmPNH — WoLF (@WomensLibFront) April 10, 2021 “OCR respectfully denies your request,” responded Suzanne Goldberg, acting assistant secretary for Civil … [Read more...] about Joe Biden’s ‘War on Women’: Education Department Denies Request to Affirm Title IX Male/Female Sex
Sorry, You Actually Haven’t Been Accepted to the University of Kentucky
Photo: benedek/Getty Images/iStockphoto A month ago, the University of Kentucky emailed 500,000 high-school seniors acceptance letters, only to quickly dash their dreams of being a Wildcat. As explained in a follow-up email, the vast majority of the messages were sent in error. The students received an email on March 15 that read, “We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted into the selective Clinical and Management program in the University of Kentucky College of Health Sciences for the Fall 2021,” reported LEX 18 , Lexington’s local NBC affiliate. The acceptance was for the school’s Clinical Leadership and Management program, which reportedly accepts 35 to 40 new students every year. Within 24 hours, the students had an apology email from the university that cited a “technical issue” as the cause of the mix-up. “Only a handful of those on the prospect list had been admitted to UK. The vast majority had not, nor had the vast majority of these students … [Read more...] about Sorry, You Actually Haven’t Been Accepted to the University of Kentucky
Julian Edelman Announces Retirement From Football
By Michael Hurley , CBS Boston BOSTON (CBS) — Julian Edelman is hanging up his spikes. The veteran wide receiver officially announced his decision in a four-minute video posted on his social media channels on Monday afternoon. “Nothing in my career has ever come easy. And no surprise, this isn’t gonna be easy, either. Now I’ve always said, I’ma go until the wheels come off. And uh … they finally have fallen off,” Edelman said while seated on the middle of the field at Gillette Stadium. “Due to an injury last year, I’ll be making my official announcement of my retirement from football. Gun Control’s Crisis Of Credibility
Who can you trust? We live in the era of fake news, spin, and shifting narratives. Everything seems to be political. Maybe that’s the wrong question. Maybe we should be asking, “who do you trust?” Recently published research has the answers. Anti-gun activists want you to trust doctors with no constitutional law or law enforcement expertise. They also want you to trust celebrities, people famous not for their ability to craft policy but their ability to entertain the masses – or at least some segment of the masses. Social media has given celebrities a platform that amplifies their opinions and importance based not on merit but popularity. Blockbuster movies, gold records, or once-loved-sitcoms do not build expertise on policy. Neither does medical training. Doctors may obtain considerably more formal education than most, but formal education in medicine does not produce policy experts. Time and again , entertainers and doctors are put front-and-center of gun control … [Read more...] about Gun Control’s Crisis Of Credibility
