Laredo Sector Border Patrol agents arrested nearly four dozen migrants over the weekend. The arrests came following a police pursuit and raids on two human smuggling stash houses near the Texas border with Mexico. Webb County Constables Office Precinct 2 contacted Laredo South Station officials on the morning of February 26 about a vehicle that failed to yield. When the police pursuit ended, the driver and passengers jumped from the vehicle and fled, according to information obtained from Laredo Sector Border Patrol officials. The constable’s deputy chased down the driver, a U.S. citizen, while the Border Patrol agents rounded up ten illegal aliens, officials stated. The agents reported the migrants entered the U.S. after traveling from Guatemala and Mexico. The deputy arrested the driver and the agents took the migrants to the Laredo South Station for processing under current sector guidelines. Later that day, Laredo Police Department officials contacted the Border Patrol … [Read more...] about Police Chase, Stash House Raids, Lead to Arrest of Dozens near Border in Texas

Clark: Border Activity Contradicts DHS Secretary’s ‘No Crisis’ Message
The speedy re-opening of mothballed detention facilities and new construction projects along the border show the Biden administration knows exactly what is on the horizon. In a press conference on Monday, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas clearly invites illegal border crossers to come to the United States, with one caveat — not now, but soon. “We are not saying don’t come, we are saying don’t come now because we will be able to deliver a safe and orderly process to them as quickly as possible,” Secretary Mayorkas stated when answering a question related to how long it might take to rebuild the United States’ immigration system. The re-opening of a facility in South Texas designed to accommodate an influx of unaccompanied migrant children and soft-sided detention facilities in the Texas Rio Grande Valley serve as telling signs of things to come. Primarily, that Secretary Mayorkas understands what the future holds as a result of the … [Read more...] about Clark: Border Activity Contradicts DHS Secretary’s ‘No Crisis’ Message
DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas: ‘Loving Parents’ Sending Children Alone to U.S.-Mexico Border
Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas says, “loving parents” in Central America are sending their children, alone, to the United States-Mexico border. During a press briefing on Monday, Mayorkas said Unaccompanied Alien Children (UACs) are being sent to the U.S. via an often deadly journey through Mexico by their “loving parents.” “We are not apprehending a 9-year-old child, who has come alone, who has traversed Mexico, whose parents … whose loving parents sent that child alone, we’re not expelling that 9-year-old child to Mexico when that child’s country of origin was Guatemala, Honduras, or El Salvador,” Mayorkas said. Mayorkas said DHS officials, along with the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), are attempting to release UACs into the U.S. interior as quickly as possible. According to the U.S. Border Patrol union, President Joe Biden’s DHS has been holding hundreds of UACs in their custody longer than the legal limit. The law … [Read more...] about DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas: ‘Loving Parents’ Sending Children Alone to U.S.-Mexico Border
Report: DHS Is Allowing Injured Migrants to Stay
President Joe Biden’s deputies are welcoming illegal migrants who are injured while trying to evade border barriers. The Los Angeles Times reported February 26: On a Feb. 18 call with advocates and lawyers, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro N. Mayorkas grew frustrated when asked about other cases in which border authorities expelled injured migrants under Title 42 [anti-epidemic rules] despite some being unable to walk after falling off the wall, according to [Linda] Corchado, who was on the call. “He was just appalled that people are jumping the wall,” Corchado said. “The point is with Title 42, that’s what happens … people are getting more and more desperate.” Corchado is the Texas-based director of legal services at Las Américas Immigrant Advocacy Center. She is also representing other migrants who were rescued from a snowstorm as they tried to sneak into American’s homeland. “So they’re trying to climb up the wall on the Mexican side, and they’re falling … [Read more...] about Report: DHS Is Allowing Injured Migrants to Stay
Asian Americans suffer racist attacks during COVID-19 pandemic
Nearly a year after they were almost stabbed to death inside a Midland, Texas, Sam’s Club, Bawi Cung and his two sons all have visible scars. It’s the unseen ones though that are harder to get over. Cung can’t walk through any store without constantly looking in all directions. His 6-year-old son, who now can’t move one eyebrow, is afraid to sleep alone. On a Saturday evening in March, when COVID-19 panic shopping gripped the nation, Cung was in search of rice at a cheaper price. The family was in the Sam’s Club meat section when Cung suddenly felt a punch to the back of his head. A man he didn’t know then slashed his face with a knife. The assailant left but soon returned to stab the boys. He wounded the 3-year-old in the back and slashed the 6-year-old from his right eye to a couple of inches past his right ear. The grisly encounter brought home the dangerous climate Asian Americans have faced since the coronavirus entered the U.S., with racially motivated harassment and … [Read more...] about Asian Americans suffer racist attacks during COVID-19 pandemic
