“We think we’ve absolutely got a case that will win,” Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton said Wednesday, referring to the Lone Star state’s antitrust lawsuit against Google alleging abusive monopolistic practices in the digital advertising business. Paxton spoke with Breitbart News Editor-in-Chief Alex Marlow on SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Daily about Texas’s litigation against Google. Marlow invited Paxton’s comments on Gov. Ron DeSantis’s (R-FL) proposed regulatory response to political censorship and manipulation of access to information the world’s largest technology companies have deployed. Paxton replied, “We definitely are looking at [DeSantis’s proposal]. We’re trying to encourage our legislature to do something similar [in Texas], because I feel like [Big Tech] have had exemption from liability that they they shouldn’t have had, especially being in the monopolistic position they are in.” “Our focus is on lawsuits,” Paxton continued. “We’ve sued Google for … [Read more...] about Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton: We Think Our Antitrust Lawsuit Against Google Will Succeed

Chairman, Four Board Members of Texas Energy Council Resign After Winter Freeze Failures
The chairman of the Energy Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) and four other board members resigned in the aftermath of the failure of the power grid to deliver electricity to millions of residents during the winter storm. The five board members, who do not live in Texas, came under pressure to resign after more than 4.5 million electric customers were left in the cold and dark during the historic freeze. “When Texans were in desperate need of electricity, ERCOT failed to do its job and Texans were left shivering in their homes without power,” Texas Governor Greg Abbott said in response to the resignations. “ERCOT leadership made assurances that Texas’ power infrastructure was prepared for the winter storm, but those assurances proved to be devastatingly false.” The governor said the organization’s lack of preparedness and transparency was “unacceptable.” The ERCOT board came under criticism after the winter storm not only because of the power grid’s failure, but because the … [Read more...] about Chairman, Four Board Members of Texas Energy Council Resign After Winter Freeze Failures
Texas National Guard to Give Coronavirus Vaccines to Homebound Seniors
At least 1,100 members of the Texas National Guard will give out vaccines to homebound senior citizens in rural and isolated areas of Texas to get the majority of Texans 65 and older vaccinated against the coronavirus by March, Gov. Texas Bishop Warns Equality Act ‘Threatens the Heart of Our Nation’
Bishop Joseph Strickland of Tyler Texas warned late Wednesday the Equality Act is destructive legislation that would do untold damage to the country if passed. “The Equality Act being considered in Congress is a threat to people of faith in this nation,” Bishop Strickland said on Twitter. “I urge all who believe in God and the truth of His Divine Revelation to speak up and let their members of Congress and Senators know that this bill threatens the heart of our nation.” The bishop’s appeal dovetails with a recent summons by leaders of the U.S. Bishops’ Conference (USCCB) for Congress to reject the proposed legislation, insisting it would demolish “precious rights to life and conscience.” Writing to members of the U.S. Congress, the bishops warned the Equality Act would “discriminate against people of faith” and “inflict numerous legal and social harms on Americans.” Biden's HUD is charting a new course, including catering to LGBTQ supporters through discrimination cases … [Read more...] about Texas Bishop Warns Equality Act ‘Threatens the Heart of Our Nation’
