Congratulations. I’ve just given you an NFL franchise. Now I want to know: Would you sell it? As in, unload it right now? Or would you hang on? First, let’s assess the upsides. You own an NFL team! I suspect it’s your most high-profile holding. Maybe you bought it decades ago, and have watched it multiply in value, to the point you can’t believe... … [Read more...] about Is it Time to Sell Your NFL Team?

AP Updated 1:35 p.m. UTC Aug 19, 2018 ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — Navy is handing the keys to its triple-option offense to Malcolm Perry. He was the starting slotback for eight games last season before coach Ken Niumatalolo switched him to quarterback to spark a struggling offense. The 5-foot-9, 185-pound speedster did just that, rushing for 282 yards and four touchdowns against SMU. That, along a 250-yard rushing effort against Army and Navy's 49-7 win over Virginia in the Military Bowl, was enough to convince Niumatalolo to make the move permanent. "Malcolm is the most dynamic runner we've had during my time here," said Niumatalolo, who has spent 21 years in Annapolis. "We have to put the ball in the hands of our best player." Perry is a threat to go all the way every time he touches the ball and playing quarterback merely increases those game-breaking opportunities. Perry rushed for 646 yards and seven touchdowns in three starts at quarterback, along with 536 yards and four … [Read more...] about Navy looks to Perry to rack up during team’s traveling show
For the Pawtucket Red Sox, the choice was between their longtime home in Pawtucket or Worcester, with the heart of the Commonwealth as the frontrunner. But the city of Weymouth, a suburban community of about 55,000 people south of Boston, was hoping to land the triple A team and put together an $85 million package. The funding would've come through a district improvement financing bond, where revenue from the development would go to pay the bond. "I think we got their attention with a serious offer and we wish the outcome were different," Mayor Robert Hedlund said Friday, after officials from Worcester and the PawSox announced they had a deal. The community, mostly residential, has three MBTA commuter rail stations, Route 3, I-93, and a 1,400-acre former naval air station that could have been the new home of the farm team of the Boston Red Sox. Weymouth reached out to the PawSox last year, though things came to a standstill as LStar, the Union Point developer, went through … [Read more...] about Weymouth was negotiating with PawSox and was ‘getting good vibe’ right until the team signed with Worcester
“Typically, when people think of hazardous materials, they're just thinking chemicals. They don't think of natural things being hazardous,” Osban said. “For instance, milk, which is a natural product that we all use, if it goes into ponds and stuff like that, it can kill mosquitoes, which will upset the environment. So even milk can be considered a hazardous material.” Protecting life and property are paramount, but the team also protects the environment and works closely with state and federal agencies when spills threaten wildlife. Inside the station, a white rig sat ready to roll Wednesday afternoon. Purchased with state funding and equipped with state-of-the-art gear, the rig can be called up at any time for events across the county or the state depending on the crisis. Standing next to the rig, Cpl. Kevin Matson, a 12-year veteran of the team, went over each piece of equipment the firefighters use every day. Matson said the technological advances of … [Read more...] about Fire department team is prepared for hazmat spills
