Taylor Swift gets the cold shoulder from ‘Romeo and Juliet’ actor Douglas Booth

Taylor Swift will start the new year in a familiar place: alone. Her latest crush, English actor Douglas Booth, has told pals in London that he’s not interested in the “Mean” singer. We’re told Swift was in hot pursuit after spotting the 21-year-old “Romeo and Juliet” star at a party at the West Hollywood Soho House in November. “Taylor kept on making an effort to flirt with Douglas, but he gave her the cold shoulder and was extremely dismissive towards her,” says our insider. Swift was not taking no for an answer, we hear, and made several attempts to lure Booth in. Samir Hussein/Getty Images for Calvin Klein Friends say Booth (r.) was scared off by Swift. “She would get a drink and then approach him; she would chat with [actress] Hailee Steinfeld and then re-approach him; she was even trying to chat him up near the flowers on display. It was all very funny for those of us watching,” says our snitch. RELATED: TAYLOR SWIFT WAS ASKED BY STATE TO DO COASTLINE CONSTRUCTION But it was to no avail. Our spies say Swift looked dejected at his lack of interest and was overheard in the ladies’ room telling Steinfeld about her disappointment. “Taylor and Hailee were chatting about Douglas while they all touched up their makeup,” says our source. “Taylor was whining and complaining about his aloofness toward her. She looked like an animal circling its prey, when she tried to get his attention.” Dimitrios Kambouris Swift and former flame John Mayer Well, something worked. They’ve since been spotted out on a few dates in London, but a friend of Booth tells us he has been scared off. “Doug is a young guy and is enjoying the single life,” says his pal. “He was quite taken aback about how keen Taylor was. She has been in touch with him, but he just wants to be friends.” RELATED: SELENA GOMEZ SHARES INSTAGRAM OF HER WITH Continue Reading

Taylor Swift scouts for a place to live in downtown New York

Taylor Swift is on the hunt and this time it's not for a man — but a Manhattan address. The “I Knew You Were Trouble” singer has been viewing apartments in Greenwich Village, looking to buy a downtown crash pad, [email protected] has exclusively learned. Renowned man-eater Swift, 24, spent Wednesday viewing a number of properties including a $12 million Leroy St. townhouse that was previously owned by “West Side Story” writer Arthur Laurents. The playwright died in 2011, and his estate sold the property the following year for $10 million. It’s now back on the market for $2 million more, and our spies caught Swift walking through the 1850s four-bedroom redbrick beauty. Dave Spencer The $12 million Leroy St. townhouse Swift is eyeing was once owned by 'West Side Story' writer Arthur Laurents. “She was well dressed and seemed in good spirits. She was being driven around with this good-looking guy who looked about her age,” said our spy. Huge vines encircle the 4,400-square-foot home, providing privacy that’s perfect for the pap-pursued pop star. The house is on a block known as St. Luke’s Place, around the corner from Robert De Niro’s old home and the brownstone that served as the exterior shot for the Huxtables house on “The Cosby Show.” Swift also checked out more modest digs at nearby 22 Charlton St., where the owner is asking $6.25 million for the four-bedroom, 2,900-square-foot townhouse. Like the singer — whose father is a third-generation bank president — the 1820s house comes from serious money, having been built by none other than John Jacob Astor. Swift, who earned more than $55 million last year, now splits her time between a penthouse in Nashville and a cottage in Beverly Hills. She also owns a summer home in Rhode Island. Taylor Swift’s birthday marred by man with criminal record arrested for trespassing at singer’s Nashville home

Taylor Swift is safe and sound after a fan with a crimnal record was arrested Friday morning and charged with trespassing on the grounds of Taylor Swift’s Nashville home. Jacob Kulke, 24, scaled a fence and gate before security intercepted him, Tennessee’s News Channel 5 reported. At that point, police said, Kulke claimed to have contacted the resident of the 6,000-square-foot mansion through “social media” and that he was dating her. Kulke also added that he had taken a bus from Wisconsin for a surprise visit on her birthday, according to cops. Swift turned 23 on Thursday. A “Happy Birthday @taylorswift13 !!!! :)” was posted Thursday on a feed believed to belong to Kulke, along with a link to a photo of the Nashville skyline. The gossip site TMZ reported that Kulke has a criminal record in Wisconsin, having served 13 months of probation for a 2010 conviction for battery, disorderly conduct and drug possession. Taylor Swift and Harry Styles go their separate ways after reported argument in Caribbean

Serial dater Taylor Swift has reportedly moved on from One Direction singer Harry Styles, with whom she’d been briefly linked last spring and then more seriously tied to in November. That’s when things got hot and heavy before finally going up in flames just before last weekend. The pop-star pair seemed inseparable when they shared a midnight kiss after Swift’s New Year’s Eve appearance in Times Square, just before they jetted off to the island of Virgin Gorda. According to businessinsider.com, that’s where things went south for the 23-year-old country crooner and her 18-year-old boy-band flame. Following a “heated argument” on the island, Swift was quickly on a plane heading back to the U.S. on Friday, earlier than scheduled. With Swift in flight, Styles hopped over to billionaire Richard Branson’s nearby Necker Island to party his troubles away before reportedly returning solo to Virgin Gorda. PHOTOS: TAYLOR SWIFT'S MANY SUITORS The couple appear to have been an on-and-off thing throughout 2012. In March they were introduced to each other at the 2012 Kids’ Choice Awards. In April, Justin Bieber revealed in an interview that one of the world's biggest recording artists had a thing for Styles. But last summer, Swift started a seasonal fling with 18-year-old Conor Kennedy, which ended in October. Around that time, Styles told an interviewer that Swift is “a really lovely girl. Honestly, she couldn’t be a sweeter person. She’s a great girl and she’s extremely talented.” In November, when Swift made a guest appearance on “The X Factor,” Styles showed up to see her. The show’s host, Mario Lopez, claimed that backstage he saw them “walking off hand in hand.” PHOTOS: CELEBRITY BREAKUPS The two were seen together often, including one wild week in New York City when they both performed at Z100’s Jingle Ball Continue Reading

MTV Video Music Awards will feature water cooler moments with Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Frank Ocean on deck

There may be no baby bump to talk about this year, but given its track record, the MTV Video Music Awards will surely provide some water cooler moments when the show airs Thursday. Last year, Beyonce set a tweets-per-second record on Twitter when she revealed her pregnancy at the awards. While that’s a tough act to follow, there may be other opportunities to keep tongues wagging (and fingers typing). Nicki Minaj, who recently caused a stir with a rhyme endorsing Republican Mitt Romney for president, has a planned collaboration with a special guest. Green Day is expected to perform despite lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong’s trip to an emergency room earlier this week. And Rihanna is set to kick off the show with A$AP Rocky. Rihanna and Drake are the show’s top nominees with five apiece. SMPSP Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart star in 'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2' It’s unclear if Drake will attend. He’s pitted against Chris Brown in one category — a noteworthy competition given that earlier this summer, their entourages were involved in a bottle-throwing brawl at a New York nightclub where both were present. The fight left several people injured and sparked lawsuits. Brown is not scheduled to perform, but if he attends, eyes will be on a possible interaction with Rihanna. Though he once attacked his ex-girlfriend, the two have resumed their friendship, and Rihanna declared her love for Brown in an interview with Oprah Winfrey last month (however, she stressed they were not a couple). The awards will be held in Los Angeles at the Staples Center for the first time. The venue will be overflowing with hunky teens idols: Rival British boy bands One Direction and The Wanted will be there, and just maybe Justin Bieber, who’s up for three moonman trophies. Taylor Swift is set to play her infectious runaway hit “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” live for the first Continue Reading

Mother of the bride claims Taylor Swift crashed Kennedy wedding

BOSTON -- The latest Camelot wedding was Swift-boated last weekend by Conor Kennedy and his country singer sweetheart. Chart-topping songstress Taylor Swift and her teenage beau reportedly crashed the Boston nuptials despite the mother of the bride’s request to steer clear of the reception. Even after arriving at the Fairmont Copley Plaza hotel, Swift twice ignored requests from Victoria Gifford Kennedy to leave the spotlight on the bride and groom. TAYLOR SWIFT & CONOR KENNEDY CAUGHT KISSING “They texted me an hour before the wedding and asked if they could come,” Kennedy told the Boston Herald. “I responded with a very clear, ‘Please do not come.’ ” The message to the musician and the son of RFK Jr. fell on deaf ears. “They came anyway,” said Victoria Kennedy. “I personally went up to Miss Swift, whose entrance distracted the entire event, politely introduced myself to her, and asked her as nicely as I could to leave.” Swift — whose latest single, “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” topped the charts this week — blithely ignored the request. PHOTOS: TAYLOR SWIFT'S NEW $5 MILLION BEACH HOUSE Robert Button/WENN.com After a romantic sailboat ride, Conor Kennedy helps Taylor Swift get back on solid ground safely. “It was like talking to a ghost,” the bride’s mom recounted to the Herald. “She seemed to look right past me.” Conor was reportedly invited solo to the wedding of Kyle Kennedy and Liam Kerr last Saturday — but never sent a response, according to Victoria Kennedy. A worker at a hotel store confirmed that Swift arrived in a flowered dress, causing a huge stir — with fans snapping photos and rushing the platinum-selling singer-songwriter for autographs. The wedding-crashing couple, despite Victoria’s protestations, apparently danced the night away at the reception without any Continue Reading

Fall Music Preview: New CDs coming from Taylor Swift, Bob Dylan, Carly Rae Jepsen, Green Day, No Doubt, Aerosmith and scores more

It says something about the current state of music that a historic number of top sonic events this fall aren’t CDs. They’re concerts. That’s apt considering the shift in the stars’ profit center from studio recordings to live blowouts. Witness Madonna. Her latest album, though creatively thrilling, bombed. Meanwhile, her tour has become a worldwide smash. It prances into our area Sept. 6 and 8 at Yankee Stadium (with more than 100,000 tickets snapped up so far), chased by another 19,000 ducats gone for a date Nov. 12 at the Garden. From Bond to 'Lincoln,' the movies to watch for Also emblematic of the shift is the ginormous, three-day Electric Zoo Festival on Randalls Island coming next weekend. It celebrates a form of music (electronica) that’s all about the live experience at the expense of CD sales. While DJs in this scene can earn millions, their albums usually sell in the high five figures, tops. Consider too the significance of Jay-Z. This fall the mogul’s big move isn’t a new album but a history-making string of eight (!) shows, held at a spanking new venue. It’s the first world-class arena to crack Brooklyn, the Barclays Center, starting Sept. 28. Kevin Winter/Getty Images No Doubt, with Gwen Stefani, puts out their first studio CD in 11 years. Speaking of tiffany venues, this fall will also see the rechristening of one of our area’s most storied concert halls: Port Chester’s Capitol Theater. On Sept. 4 that historic venue — site of shows by Janis Joplin and Derek and the Dominos — will again throw open its doors with a show by a star worthy of its legacy: Bob Dylan. (The bard returns to our area, at the Barclay Center Nov. 21.) Likewise, fans can look forward to starry shows from Neil Young and Crazy Horse, performing their first dates in eight years, including a massive freebie triple threat in Central Park with Foo Fighters and the Black Keys on Sept. 29. U2, Bruce Springsteen, Taylor Swift slash ticket prices for summer shows

There's finally some good news on the concert ticket front. Responding to the wretched economy - and the public's outrage over Ticketmaster's escalating add-on fees - some big-name artists have slashed ticket prices for spring and summer shows. You can see the nation's top new teen queen, Taylor Swift, for just $24.50 at the Garden on Aug. 27, U2 for 30 bucks at Giants Stadium on Sept. 24 and 25, and the biggest all-star pop show (Z-100's Zootopia concert) for $27 on May 16. Naturally, these hacked-down rates hardly apply to the best seats in the house: Get ready for your nose to bleed. If you want a primo perch for, say, U2's shows, you'll pay at least $250 - not counting those add-on fees. And the top ducat for Ms. Swift goes for more than three times the cheapies: $79.50. The cut-rate Zootopia tickets deserve a special warning: They're "no view" seats, meaning you'll watch the show on TV monitors. A far broader range of deals can be had at the PNC Bank Arts Center this summer. Perhaps in reaction to its much-loathed new parking fees, PNC is offering $19 lawn seats to the June 6 tour featuring Nine Inch Nails and the reunited Jane's Addiction. At that show, and others, PNC is offering a promotion that gives buyers one free ticket if they buy three. This applies to shows by The Fray on June 19, Def Leppard on July 1 and the Allman Brothers on Aug. 19. Jones Beach has the same buy-three-get-one-free deal for its Leppard show on July 8. More concerts that offer this package at PNC will be announced in the next few weeks as the venue's summer lineup fills out. Some cities are experiencing even deeper discounts than New York. Bruce Springsteen's current tour has been selling some seats for as low as $14.50 in Tulsa, Okla. Even in the pricey tristate area, Bruce tickets remain relatively low (by top-star standards), with lots of slots to be had for $63.50. Perhaps the most innovative discounting this summer can be found at the Continue Reading

Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris hold hands at L.A. club; Diners catch a quick view of Monica Lewinsky in NYC

Congratulations, Calvin Harris. Before you know it, you’ll be immortalized in song. Taylor Swift and her new deejay male pal were seen holding hands throughout Thursday night at the Troubador Club in West Hollywood. Or, as she might call it — a long-term relationship. The pair were later seen exiting through the club’s back door. The next morning, Harris was spotted driving away from the “Love Story” singer's house. MEDIA COLUMN IS POST TRAUMATICKeith Kelly has gone from media columnist to being editor-in-chief Col Allan’s personal attack dog. While newsroom chatter pegs Kelly’s salary at a hefty six figures, sources tell us his job has been reduced to being nothing more than a mouthpiece for the intensely disliked Allan’s erratic vendettas.  “I can’t remember the last time [Keith] broke a big story,” says one media veteran. “Most of the time it seems he isn’t even trying” The down-market tabloid is believed to lose upwards of $70 million a year. DINERS CATCH A QUICK VIEW OF LEWINSKY Vanity Fair contributor Monica Lewinsky was spotted dining at Tao Downtown restaurant this week, where she entered with two gal pals. Our spy said “a lot of people noticed her,” but lost sight of the former White House intern as she was swiftly ushered to a secluded table. Perhaps Lewinsky was plotting an April Fool’s prank? On Wednesday, reports broke that she might be joining ABC’s “The View” as a panelist. Her spokesman quickly told ET “This is obviously not happening.” LEONORA DRAWS PARTY FAITHFUL What troubles? Despite quarreling among club owners this week, it’s business as usual for the Leonora nightclub in Chelsea — and then some. DJ Just Blaze, who’s worked with Jay Z, Kanye West and Eminem, will get behind the turntables on Saturday night Continue Reading
