True "Sandlot" fans will instantly recognize the saying, "You're killin' me, Smalls." But one supposed fan met two stars from the 1993 film on the street and couldn't quite place them. "Sandlot" actors Patrick Renna and Tom Guiry took a photo with the fan on Wednesday and it soon went viral. In the selfie, the fan in question is wearing a t-shirt with the film's iconic line: "You're killin' me, Smalls." The shirt even had a photo of Renna on it, in character as Hamilton "Ham" Porter. The fan, however, seemed not to notice that the man he was meeting on the street was the person on his shirt -- just 25 years older. Guiry played Scott Smalls in "The Sandlot." In the film, Renna' red-haired character "Ham" yells the line at "Smalls" in frustration. The irony went right over the fan's head. Renna says he stopped the fan on the street after noticing his t-shirt. "Said nice shirt to this dude walking by us and he had no idea what we were talking about. Thought I would … [Read more...] about “You’re killin’ me, Smalls”: Man wearing “Sandlot” t-shirt unknowingly takes a photo with “Sandlot” stars

Many Chinese shoppers love their top-shelf brands. But another big slice of the population goes gaga for a 40-cent pair of earrings, a $1.50 wireless smartphone charger and 50 rolls of toilet paper for $4.75. These are the shoppers on Pinduoduo, a Chinese app that drew close to 350 million customers in the past year, more than the entire population of the United States. Its parent company is expected to list shares on the Nasdaq stock exchange on Thursday, just three years into its existence. The lightning-fast ascent of Pinduoduo (pronounced a bit like “PING-daw-daw”) suggests that China is not done producing high-flying internet upstarts, despite the vast reach of incumbents such as Alibaba. It also illustrates the clout of an … [Read more...] about T-Shirts, Toilet Paper and Rotten Mangoes. This Chinese App Sells It All.
Good Tuesday Morning, Fellow Seekers. There's no souvenir quite like the novelty t-shirt. Who among us doesn't have, for instance, some 100 percent cotton token reminding us of our trip to Mount Washington? Or that freebie you got for downing one too many shots of Special Adult Beverage? Or that "I went to Clevleand and all I got was the Republican nomination for President," shirt you now use to wash your car? John Fetterman, Democratic candidate for lieutenant governor, JOE HERMITT So credit Democratic lieutenant governor candidate John Fetterman for a bit of creative thinking. ENTERTAINMENT 07/02/2018 09:57 am ET "It made our photos and wedding that much better," the groom said. By Ron Dicker Adam Sandler inadvertently showed up at a recent Montreal wedding photo shoot looking more like he was ready for a pickup basketball game. But the starstruck bride and groom didn’t mind that the comedian was wearing a T-shirt and shorts when he walked by during their photography session at Le Mount Stephen. After the bride got his attention, “The Wedding Singer” star sauntered over to wish them well and became a most-welcomed wedding-photo guest. “We told him we’re huge fans, we love his work, we’ve watched all his films,” newlywed Kevin Goldstein told the BBC while on his honeymoon in Italy. “He replied, ‘Good, I’ll take some photos then ― mazel tov!’” So photographer Sana Belgot fired away and later posted some of the pics to Instagram, with the couple’s … [Read more...] about Adam Sandler Crashes Montreal Wedding Photos In T-Shirt And Gym Shorts
