Tim Walz (D) has mobilized the National Guard after rioters vandalized the Brooklyn Center Police Department Sunday because law enforcement shot and killed a black man with an outstanding warrant. Waltz issued a statement late Sunday night following the shooting that took place at a traffic stop. “I am closely monitoring the situation in Brooklyn Center. UPDATE: Colorado finds “no cause for concern” with Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine used at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park Health officials shut down the COVID-19 mass-vaccination site at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City on Wednesday afternoon after 11 people suffered adverse reactions to the Johnson & Johnson vaccine and two were taken to area hospitals for observation. The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment on Wednesday night issued a statement stressing that the side effects experienced by patients at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park — including nausea and dizziness — were “consistent with what can be expected,” and that the decision to close the site early was made out of an abundance of caution. “The state has no reason to believe that people who were vaccinated today at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park should be concerned,” the health department said in a news release. SANTA CLARITA (CBSLA) — A vaccination site will open at both College of the Canyons and Palmdale Oasis Park Recreation Center on April 19 to service the northern part of Los Angeles County. Army throws support behind officer pepper-sprayed in Virginia traffic stop
The Army’s top enlisted leader on Monday voiced his support for the Army officer involved in an incident caught on camera in which two Virginia police officers drew their guns and pepper-sprayed him during a traffic stop. Sgt. Maj. of the Army Michael Grinston tweeted he “was concerned by the video” of Caron Nazario, a second lieutenant, who sued the police officers involved in the December incident at a gas station in the southeastern town of Windsor. “He represented himself and our Army well through his calm, professional response to the situation – I’m very proud of him,” Grinston wrote.
