Sun and solar power cut electricity demand from New England grid to lowest ever
Principal Andrew O’Brien stands next to solar panels at Simsbury High School on Aug. 30, 2017. Rising solar power use is helping to cut daytime demand for electricity from the New England grid. (Monica Jorge/Hartford Courant/TNS) For the first time, New Englanders used more electricity from the region’s grid while sleeping at night than during the day as sunshine, comfortable temperatures and increasingly common solar panels cut demand from the grid to new lows. It happened April 21, said ISO-New England. And the region’s electricity grid operator said it expects it to happen more frequently with rising use of solar energy. The Holyoke, Mass.-based ISO said the “right combination” of sunshine and mild weather led to light consumer demand on the electric power system. Added to that was record-high output from the more than 130,000 solar power installations in the six-state region. “The result was that midday grid demand dipped below overnight demand … [Read more...] about Sun and solar power cut electricity demand from New England grid to lowest ever
The Advantages of a Solar Powered Generator

If you take a closer look at any solar powered generator, you will notice that there are 3 parts to it. This includes the generator itself, a battery charger, and a frame. The primary function of the frame is to draw in the solar power from the sun and distribute it … [Read more...] about The Advantages of a Solar Powered Generator
