Study: Liberals more likely to block social-media friends over political differences
According to a new poll from the Pew Research Center’s Internet & American Life Project, self-described liberals are twice as likely than self-described conservatives to block material on social networking websites that they find politically disagreeable. Thirty-six percent of social media users said they have blocked, “unfriended” or hidden someone because of politics, but left-leaning participants were far more likely to have taken that action to express disagreement about a friend’s political views. “Liberals are the most likely to have taken … steps to block, unfriend, or hide” disagreeable political messages, Pew concluded. “In all, 28% of liberals have blocked, unfriended, or hidden someone on SNS [social networking sites] because of one of these reasons, compared with 16% of conservatives and 14% of moderates.” Sixteen percent of liberal users said they blocked someone who posted something specific that they disagreed with, compared to eight percent of conservative … [Read more...] about Study: Liberals more likely to block social-media friends over political differences
Amazon Changes App Logo After Social Media Outcry
Amazon quietly changed its smartphone app logo after social media users compared its look to the mustache of German dictator Adolf Hitler. The old logo included a ripped piece of scotch over the Amazon arrow. That logo debuted in January, according to the New York Post. However, some complained that it looked too similar to Hitler’s toothbrush mustache. The new Amazon logo replaces the ripped piece of tape with a folded back sticky note. lmao I completely missed that amazon quietly tweaked its new icon to make it look… less like hitler pic.twitter.com/Jh8UC8Yg3u — alex hern (@alexhern) March 1, 2021 ROFL … Remember when Amazon rolled out their new mobile app icon and we said it looked like Hitler? David Bossie: COVID coverage – here’s what media ignores about Noem, DeSantis while touting Cuomo, Newsom
close Video Noem rails against Fauci, Cuomo in COVID-centric CPAC speech South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem says she's been vindicated from critics Last weekend I was thrilled to attend CPAC – one of the largest political gatherings in our nation – and what I saw was a unified conservative movement and Republican Party with successful policies, principled leaders and a clear vision for the future. This is despite, or perhaps in spite of, the recent attacks by the biased media to portray the Republican Party as fractured and without leaders. That, as I saw in Orlando , couldn’t be further from the truth. Former President Donald Trump returned to the stage to thunderous applause as he excoriated the radical Biden agenda, pushed back on blue-state lockdowns, and hinted at the future of the party in 2022, 2024 and beyond. GOV. LARRY HOGAN: OPEN THE DAMN SCHOOLS – BIDEN MUST SEND THIS MESSAGE LOUD AND CLEAR Also speaking at the conference … [Read more...] about David Bossie: COVID coverage – here’s what media ignores about Noem, DeSantis while touting Cuomo, Newsom
Outgoing German Spy Chief Fired for Calling Social Democrats ‘Radical Left’, Security Policy ‘Naive’
Germany’s outgoing intelligence chief has been forced into early retirement over a speech he gave in private denouncing “radical-left forces” in Chancellor Angela Merkel’s coalition. Hans-Georg Maassen had been set to take up a special advisory role in the interior ministry after left-wing political pressure saw him fired from his role as chief of the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BfV) in September. But on Monday, Federal Interior Minister Horst Seehofer announced he had retired the veteran civil servant from all offices with immediate effect, asserting Maassen had “crossed a line” with comments made during a farewell speech to intelligence chiefs in October, which was leaked to the German media. Speaking at a closed-door meeting in Warsaw, the 55-year-old had defended his assessment that there was no real evidence to back claims that right-wing participants in protests in Chemnitz against migrant violence had engaged in “hunts” of people who looked … [Read more...] about Outgoing German Spy Chief Fired for Calling Social Democrats ‘Radical Left’, Security Policy ‘Naive’
