Kim Reynolds (R), who received a shot of the Johnson & Johnson coronavirus vaccine, touted its effectiveness on Wednesday after health officials called for a pause in use following cases of rare blood clots in six women who received the shots. Reynolds said she "would do it again." "I'm glad that I did have the opportunity to have the J&J vaccine, and I would do it again," she said during a news conference, according to the Des Moines Register . "Vaccination is the best defense against the virus, and as you've heard, the reward far outweighs the risk." Iowa GOP Rep Introduces Legislation to Protect Trump Deregulation Agenda
Freshman Rep. Ashley Hinson (R-IA) introduced the Red Tape Reduction Act on Tuesday to “save President Trump’s deregulation agenda” and “codify certain executive orders.” Hinson introduced legislation to cement five of the former president’s executive orders, which were the “most impactful deregulatory executive orders.” On President Joe Biden’s first day in office, he signed numerous executive orders in order to reverse Trump-era policies. One executive order rolled back on Trump’s deregulation agenda. State Farm expects $52M in claims
State Farm Insurance estimates it will receive $52.5 million in claims as a result of the tornadoes that touched down Thursday in Weld County. The company expects to receive about 5,000 claims for vehicles and 3,000 for residences and businesses. They are mostly for homes and cars, said May Martinez Hendershot, a spokeswoman for State Farm, the largest insurer in Weld County. The amount is apt to increase as adjusters are allowed into the more heavily damaged areas, she said. 3 People Rescued From Giant Tank At Homestead Fish Farm
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Three people were hospitalized on Tuesday after being rescued from a large fish tank at a Homestead business. It happened Tuesday at 22275 SW 272nd Street. A check of the address came back to Atlantic Sapphire, a sustainable salmon farm that uses a recirculating aquaculture system.
