By: KDKA-TV News Staff PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – State police handed out seven warnings and three notices of violation after visiting Pittsburgh-area businesses to make sure they’re following COVID-19 restrictions. Company's Virus-Killing Copper Material Invention Across the state from Monday through Thursday, State Police Liquor Control Enforcement officers visited 1,026 establishments, issuing 15 notices of violation and 24 warnings. The unannounced compliance checks make sure businesses are following the coronavirus mitigation efforts, like mask-wearing, social distancing and limited occupancy. BOSTON (CBS) – Neighborhoods surrounding Boston’s iconic parks, courts, and stadiums are gearing up for a soft reopening. Just in time for the Red Sox opening day, Governor Baker has given the go ahead for fans in major sports venues at 12% capacity. “It’s sad to me to see so many places closed,” said Peg Nylen as she walked out of the Fenway vaccination site. “That’s what hit me when I came out the door. Gang Clashes Increased by 24 Per Cent in France in 2020
Clashes and brawls between rivals gangs increased by 24 per cent in France in 2020, the Interior Ministry has revealed. The Interior Ministry figures show that gang clashes have been on the rise for the last seven years and that 80 per cent of the clashes take part in the Ille-DeFrance region, where both Paris and the no-go Paris suburbs of Seine-Saint-Denis are located. In all, such events increased by 24 per cent to a total of 357 so-called violent clashes over the course of 2020. The majority of those involved in the violence are minors under the age of 18 and the average age of those involved is just over 17-years-old, broadcaster Franceinfo reports . The site characterises the brawlers as “young men” in its report”. Mobster Peter Gotti, the one-time Gambino crime boss and successor to brother John "Dapper Don" Gotti, died in North Carolina where he was serving time in federal prison. He was 81. Gotti, who had been sentenced to 25 years in jail after being convicted in 2003 on racketeering and other charges, died of natural causes at the Federal Medical Center in Butner, the Associated Press reported. The Bronx native served more than 17 years behind bars and had been recently seeking an early release because of his poor health. He had been suffering from thyroid problems and was blind in one eye, Lewis Kasman, a former mobster and John Gotti confidant, told the AP.
