Cultiva LA, formed last March to address food insecurity in the Westlake and Pico Union area, partnered with County Supervisor Hilda Solis, whose office says developed the dual strategy of a vaccine clinic and food giveaway, organized the event. COVID In Colorado: State Suspends Colorado Springs Vaccine Operation At Clinic Over Storage Concerns
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4) – A clinic administering COVID-19 vaccines in El Paso County was told to pause its operations over concerns about vaccine storage. The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment says it issued Dr. Moma Health and Wellness a suspension notice meaning they will not receive doses until the investigation is complete. CDPHE says El Paso County Public Health visited the clinic where they say storage protocols were not followed. The county then alerted the Joint Vaccine Task Force. The clinic has administered nearly 4,000 vaccines, according to the Colorado Immunization Information System. An investigation is underway to determine whether the storage incident was isolated and whether the clinic followed protocols consistently. “Health officials do not believe patients at this site have cause for concern but are in the process of determining whether those previously vaccinated at this location will need to re-initiate their vaccine series, as … [Read more...] about COVID In Colorado: State Suspends Colorado Springs Vaccine Operation At Clinic Over Storage Concerns

Rockies’ bullpen teetering entering Saturday’s doubleheader vs. Mets
The last line of defense is letting the Rockies down. Entering Saturday’s snow-induced doubleheader against the New York Mets at Coors Field, the Rockies’ bullpen is teetering. The relievers’ 5.84 ERA, .283 batting average against and 1.72 WHIP all rank as the worst marks in the National League. The bullpen’s 4.93 walks per nine innings are the fourth-highest in the NL. Colorado is coming off a gut-punch, 7-5 loss at Los Angeles late Thursday night. The Rockies took a 5-3 lead into the seventh inning, but right-hander Yency Almonte’s control deserted him with two outs and the Dodgers’ Max Muncy hit a go-ahead three-run homer. “We’re playing good defense, the starting pitching is hanging in there,” manager Bud Black said Thursday night. “The bullpen has been the variable, right? There’s been a couple of games where we’ve had leads in the middle part of the game — the sixth or seventh inning — and a big blow has hurt us. The big home run by (Brandon) Crawford in San Francisco, the … [Read more...] about Rockies’ bullpen teetering entering Saturday’s doubleheader vs. Mets
