Roger Fortin LEWISTON – On April 11, 2019, Roger Fortin was reunited with his wife, Lucille, on their wedding anniversary. They are both at peace and finally together once again. Roger died at Woodlands Memory Care with his daughter, Terry and grandson, Dan by his side. Alzheimer’s disease took his mind, but it could never take the soul of the truly good man he was. He was born on Nov. 8, 1930 to Adelard and Clara Fortin. He was raised in New Auburn and loved to go fishing and hunting with his friend, Mike Gagnon. They both went to St. Louie’s school together and coincidentally both lived at Woodlands at the time of Roger’s death. He met the love of his life, Lucille Morin, on a warm summer night, at a dance in Lewiston. Since Roger did not drive, they walked on dates all over Lewiston and Auburn. They married on April 11,1953. Two months later, Roger was sent to Korea for two years. He worked on the railroad, keeping the trains running. Roger A. Auger KENNEBUNK – Roger A. Auger, 85, died peacefully at home surrounded by family on Monday, April 1, 2019 in Kennebunk. Roger dedicated his life to the town of Rumford and moved to Kennebunk to be closer to his children. He enjoyed his daily walks, talking with the locals and spending time in the Western Mountains of Maine. Roger was the unofficial social ambassador for the Town of Rumford. Roger was born May 19, 1933 in Rumford, the son of Lionel and Eva Auger, and is a graduate of Stevens High School, class of 1952. After high school he joined the Air Force in 1953 and was honorably discharged in 1957. He attended University of Southern Maine in Portland. Roger married Rachel Folland Auger in 1959. Together they had two children, John Auger and Jennifer Auger Mazzaro. Roger was a restaurant and lounge entrepreneur. In the 1960s he owned the Hotel Rumford. NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Joseph Robert Rogers Sr., 78, of Nashville, Tenn., formerly of New Gloucester, Maine, died Monday, Jan. 28, 2019, after a courageous battle with cancer. Mr. Rogers was born Oct. 5, 1940, in Hampton County, S.C., son of the late John Seidle Rogers and Florence Youmans Rogers. He was educated in local schools and graduated from Wade Hampton High School. He married his high school sweetheart, Judy Hatcher Rogers, and embarked on a construction career that took him throughout the U.S. For many years, Joe lived in New Gloucester, and was co-owner with his brother, John, of Commercial Concrete Corporation.Mr. Rogers was active in sports, particularly men’s fast pitch softball while living in Maine.
