WHITEFISH BAY, WI — Police in Whitefish Bay and surrounding communities in the North Shore are reporting an increase in vehicle thefts, and are advising residents to report suspicious activity whenever it appears. The North Shore's most recent incident came on Jan. 27 in Whitefish Bay, when a woman was robbed of her Mercedes in a back alley. According to Whitefish Bay Police, officers responded to the 5300 block of N. Idlewild Ave. on a report of a robbery. Police told Patch.com that two black males wearing hoodies with their faces covered, approached a woman in her alley and ordered her to give them her keys. The boys were 14 and 15 years old, police said.Police say the two boys fled the area southbound in the woman's Mercedes. A third black male in a Kia also appeared to be involved, police said. Evanston Teacher Robbed At Gunpoint By Teen With Knife: Police
EVANSTON, IL —A teacher was robbed at gunpoint after leaving work at Nichols Middle School Thursday, according to police and school officials. Around 4 p.m., the 31-year-old man was approached around the corner of Lee Street and Elmwood Avenue by someone he didn't recognize who brandished a gun and grabbed him, police said. "Give me your wallet," the robber demanded, according to Cmdr. Ryan Glew. After the teacher turned over his wallet and cellphone, the robber pocketed the silver and black gun and pulled out a knife. He asked the teacher for the code to unlock the phone and warned him not to call to police before walking away. Police said robber was last seen heading east on Lee Street and turning north on Sherman Avenue. The teacher ran back to Nichols and notified school staff.
