Otherwise, I might not have returned. I first wrote about Harley in December, declaring it one the 10 best openings of 2018. The two-story Laguna Beach restaurant debuted in November after a brief closure and lightning-fast revamp of what was previously 370 Common. The new chef/owner is Greg Daniels, formerly of Haven gastropub in Orange. Daniels’ modern American wood-fired cuisine, as well as the overall atmosphere here, are substantial upgrades from Haven. This is not a large restaurant. Harley seats only about 85 diners at a time, and that includes the stools surrounding the bar and small open kitchen.
