Of course, it is possible to have too much of a good and glittery thing. “You can go overboard with a glamorous look if you’re not careful,” Merhi said. Overdo it and you risk ending up with a space that feels stuffy, cluttered and overwhelming. To avoid such a design fail, hold back (it doesn’t all need to pop) and instead “sprinkle glam elements throughout the room,” she said, selecting items that complement, rather than compete with one another. … [Read more...] about Bring vision of an Instagram décor influencer into your home
The events since Barr’s letter have incinerated whatever remains of his credibility. The famously tight-lipped Mueller team told several news outlets the letter had minimized Trump’s culpability; Barr gave congressional testimony hyping up Trump’s charges of “spying,” even prejudging the outcome of an investigation (“I think there was a failure among a group of leaders [at the FBI] at the upper echelon”); evaded questions as to whether he had shared the Mueller report with the White House; and, it turns out, he’s “had numerous conversations with White House lawyers which aided the president’s legal team,” the New York Times reports. Then he broke precedent by scheduling a press conference to spin the report in advance of its redacted publication. … [Read more...] about Congress Should Impeach William Barr

And anyway, most analysts don’t seem all that worried by the last two days of negative reports. … [Read more...] about Should You Be Worried About April’s Disappointing Jobs Report?
4) On Feb. 13, the Trump administration informed Congress that is was diverting $3.8 billion from the Pentagon’s budget for the purchase of aircraft and other equipment to construct barriers on the southern border, bringing the total taken from the Defense Department for the wall this year to $7.2 billion. Citing an anti-narcotics law and a statute allowing the Pentagon — in the event of a national emergency requiring the deployment of troops — to use construction funds to pay for infrastructure for these forces, the White House made this decision without approval from Congress, which has several times refused to appropriate money for this purpose. The courts have approved these maneuvers, but, along with the administration’s imposition of tariffs, they constitute yet another step in the evisceration of Congress’s power over the purse. … [Read more...] about President Trump’s assault on checks and balances: Five acts in four weeks
