DENVER (CBS4) – A powerful storm expected to cause widespread impacts arrived on schedule Thursday night. The worse conditions in the Denver metro area will start Friday afternoon. For the Denver, Boulder, Fort Collins and most locations under 6,000 feet, rain will mix with snow Friday afternoon followed by a change to all snow for Friday night and Saturday morning. Therefore the CBS4 Weather Team has declared a First Alert Weather Day through midday Saturday. (source: CBS) The Denver metro area is under a Winter Storm Warning starting at 4 p.m. Friday. The highest impacts from this very late season storm will be related to snow accumulation on trees. Since most trees now have full foliage and the snow will be very heavy, the weight of the snow could easily break at least small tree limbs. Baltimore Co. Police Chief: Amy Caprio ‘The Type Of Officer You Want To Hire’
PERRY HALL, Md. (WJZ/AP) — The Baltimore County Police officer killed Monday while investigating a suspicious vehicle has been identified as 29-year-old Amy Caprio. Baltimore County Police Chief Terrence Sheridan said Caprio died from major head trauma to the head and torso. Her death was ruled a homicide by the medical examiner. Initially, it was reported she was shot while witnesses said she may have been run over by a black Jeep driven by the suspect. S&P 500 drops into bear market territory as recession fears mount
New York (CNN Business) The S&P 500 fell into bear market territory Friday, slipping more than 20% from its record high and potentially ending the bull run that began in March 2020. The designation comes on the heels of six straight weekly losses for the index and follows months of precipitous market drops. The S&P 500 has long been considered the most accurate measure of the nation's stock performance. In the three years prior to this bear market, the index grew by 90%. Downward momentum pushed the S&P 500 further in afternoon trading, down more than 2% for the day and 20.3% from its record-high close of 4,796.46 in early January.
