Rod Beard The Detroit News Published 5:33 AM EDT Sep 25, 2018 Detroit — Jimmy Butler is not walking through that door. Well, probably not. It takes money to make money. And it takes star talent to get star talent. It takes star talent — or a very good deal, under very good circumstances. The Pistons don’t seem to have the star talent to spare — and even if they did, it would take a big stretch to put together a package that would entice the Minnesota Timberwolves to deal their All-Star wing, who is likely to be traded any day this week, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. The rumor mill heated up over the weekend, as Wojnarowski mentioned the Pistons as a team interested in adding Butler to their lineup. Well, make that the Pistons and about half the rest of the NBA. Given that competitive trade market, with other offers on the table, it’s going to be hard for the Pistons to have enough assets. The following is the latest info on Kemba Walker Knicks Jazz NBA Trade Rumors with the Pistons and Bucks looking as well.Mitch Kupchak cannot let Walker walk out the door without getting anything in return, so if the Hornets get off to a mediocre start to the 2018-19 season the trade rumors are going to heat up. Kupchak hasn’t exactly been enamored with the prospect of building a championship team around Walker, but both parties are saying all the right things for now. Last week Walker told the Hartford Courant that he is committed to the Hornets and that he doesn’t have his eye on the Knicks. Having grown up in the Bronx and having played many big college games at Madison Square Garden while at UConn Walker has consistently been … [Read more...] about Kemba Walker Knicks Jazz NBA Trade Rumors: Pistons Bucks too?
Chris Iseman Staff Writer, @chrisiseman Published 7:52 p.m. UTC May 31, 2018 Oklahoma point guard Trae Young will hold a private workout with the Knicks, according to a New York Post report. Young, who led the nation in scoring (27.4 points per game) and assists (8.7 per game) in his one-and-done season with the Sooners this past season, said at the NBA Combine in Chicago two weeks ago that he wasn't sure if he would work if he would work out for the Knicks since they have the No. 9 pick in the 2018 NBA Draft. Young is projected to go higher in the top 10. But if he falls to No. 9, or if the Knicks decide to trade up, he could be an intriguing option. The Knicks have a guard-heavy roster, but Young could give them a dynamic point guard. Young shot 42.2 percent from the field as a freshman and 36 percent from long distance. With his prolific range, along with his frame, he has drawn comparisons to Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry. Knicks general manager Scott … [Read more...] about Trae Young to work out for New York Knicks, per report

Mark Jackson The Brooklyn-born, former Knicks point guard still has ties to the organization. A players’ coach, Jackson went 121-109 in three seasons coaching the Warriors and reached the playoffs twice. But personality clashes with members of the organization and philosophical differences about assistant coaches led to Jackson’s dismissal after a 51-31 season. He would be a popular choice with Knicks fans. Doc Rivers Another ex-Knicks point guard who is considered a players’ coach and would be a popular choice. Rivers’ teams have made the playoffs 14 times in his 19 years as a coach. He guided Boston to a title, and did one of his best jobs this season, leading the Clippers to a 42-40 mark despite trading Chris Paul last summer and Blake Griffin in-season. If he’s not back in L.A., he’s a definite candidate. David Fizdale A fiery, young coach who led Memphis to the playoffs in his first year on the bench. He feuded with Marc Gasol and was let go … [Read more...] about Five potential Knicks coaching candidates
