(CBS DETROIT) – Weather permitting, Michigan Department of Transportation contract crews will be demolishing the Burns Street overpass above I-94 in Detroit this weekend. This work will require closing both directions of I-94 between I-75 and Conner Avenue starting at 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26. All lanes of I-94 are expected to reopen by 5 a.m. Monday, March 1. Life Threatening Injuries After Several People Hit On High Street In Boston
BOSTON (CBS) – Boston police and firefighters, including technical rescue crews, are on scene during an incident with critical injuries on Wednesday. The incident initially was reported as multiple people struck by a vehicle in the city’s Financial District. Several blocks around High Street were closed off around 8:30 a.m. Boston Police did not specify how many people were hurt, but said the incident involved life-threatening injuries. 2 Men Killed In Accident At Construction Site On High Street In Boston
BOSTON (CBS) – Two men were killed Wednesday morning in an accident at a construction site in Boston’s Financial District. Relatives of one of the victims said the men fell about 20 feet into a hole after being hit by a truck. Boston police and firefighters, including technical rescue crews, were called to High Street around 8 a.m. after an initial report that multiple people had been struck by a vehicle. Drunk Driver Trying To Escape Police Ends Up Biting K-9, Barks At Officers
A California man who was trying to evade police Saturday night was eventually caught – only after he bit a police K-9 and barked at officers, according to authorities. Jorge Bucioperez was driving a silver minivan Saturday night near the area of Houghton Avenue and Butte Street, according to a press release from the Corning Police Department. An officer said Bucioperez ran a stop sign. While attempting to pull Bucioperez over, police say he ended up leading the office on a high speed chase , with Bucioperez going 75 miles per hour at one point. Eventually Bucioperez jumped out of the vehicle and began running through random backyards. Police K-9 Blaze was released, chasing and apprehending Bucioperez. However, Bucioperez wasn’t willing to go down easy.
