MILFORD, CT — A Bridgeport woman, Deanisha Pierce, 28, of Vine Street, was released after posting a $50,000 bond after being arrested on a warrant, Milford Police said. On Nov. 25, police arrested Pierce on a warrant. She is accused of taking more than $1,000 worth of items from Dick's Sporting Goods, 1201 Boston Post Road, on Oct. 22, police said. Police say Pierce is accused of trying to avoid apprehension by pushing and punching the store employee, police said. Police: Interstate Thieves Arrested Outside Macy’s In Bel Air
BEL AIR, MD — Police said two interstate theft suspects are behind bars after an attempted heist at the Harford Mall. The Delaware residents were arrested Tuesday in Bel Air after authorities said they stole more than $1,200 worth of merchandise from Macy's. Around 7 p.m., police said an officer on holiday patrol at the Harford Mall saw a woman leaving Macy's with merchandise in both arms. Upon seeing Officer Jose Maldonado's patrol vehicle, officials reported she dropped the items and ran toward Boulton Street. Just as that happened, Maldonado was diverted to an altercation in the vestibule at the Macy's in the 600 block of Baltimore Pike. Authorities said a man was trying to steal merchandise. Maldonado and loss prevention worked together to take the man into custody. Khyleil Aziz Triplett, 21, of Wilmington, Delaware, was charged with theft from $100 to $1,500 and second-degree assault, court records show. Police are searching for 1-year-old after finding a woman dead in an Ansonia, Connecticut, home
(CNN)Authorities continued looking Thursday for a 1-year-old after finding a dead woman in an Ansonia, Connecticut, home and learning that the baby who lives at the residence was supposed to be there, according to police. Police issued an Amber Alert for Venessa Morales on Wednesday. Investigators have spoken with the girl's father and family members, and none knows her whereabouts, Lt. Patrick Lynch of the Ansonia Police Department said. She was last seen Friday afternoon at a relative's house. The nearby Derby Police Department and state and federal authorities are assisting in the search. "We will continue to follow every lead. No information is too small or insignificant," Lynch said, explaining that authorities do not believe the incident is random. He would not elaborate. Accusations of racism in the San Francisco Police Department gained momentum in federal court Thursday when a judge ruled that a series of Tenderloin drug stings — in which all 37 people charged were black — showed “substantial evidence” of racially discriminatory law enforcement. According to court records, one officer was overheard making derogatory references to “BMs,” or black males, and another referred to black women as “bitches.” There was also evidence that police were aware of nonblack drug dealers in the same area but did not arrest them.
