Police investigate untimely death at Indian Brook Park
Indian Brook Park was closed for several hours Thursday afternoon due to a police investigation into an untimely death, according to Essex Police Chief Rick Garey. Officers responded to the scene after a caller reported finding a deceased individual. Police closed the road with caution tape and turned away a few residents who drove down Indian Brook Road. In a Facebook post around 4 p.m., Essex Parks and Recreation said the park was closed due to an “ongoing issue.” The park was reopened around 5:45 p.m. Garey assured residents the incident posed no danger to the public. Snapchat posts that appear to show guns prompt police investigation of Maine South students
Reports that photographs of weapons were shared on a social media app by students of a Park Ridge high school prompted police investigations last month, authorities said.The photos, which were shared on Snapchat, were reported anonymously to staff members at Maine South High School on March 2 and March 23, said Park Ridge Deputy Police Chief Duane Mellema.Both photos showed what appeared to be real guns, Mellema said. Two people were found dead in a pickup in New Milford Thursday morning and police in New York State Police said they are investigating the possible death of the suspect after finding a man's body in a minivan in Dutchess County, New York.
