With staffing and veterinarian shortages, coupled with the increases in returns, surrenders, and abandonments, and decreases in adoption rates, shelters are seeing record setting capacity levels. The tragedy that took two young lives at Devils Hole in the Mojave Desert on a summer night in 1965 involves several colliding factors, some unearthly. A hidden lake below the desert; an ancient seismic event; a group of kids from Las Vegas making bad choices; and one of the rarest animals on Earth — the Devils Hole pupfish. For centuries, the mysterious opening in the desert just over the Nevada border confounded those who stumbled across it. On its surface, a gap in the rock the size of a living room drops down 30 feet to a limestone shelf and hot water pool. Below, a series of tunnels lead to numerous caverns and the “infinity cave,” a giant underwater lake that has never been fully mapped. Several adventurers have tried to find its deepest contours. Tiger cub found in Texas rapper’s home didn’t actually escape Dallas Zoo
Dallas rapper Trapboy Freddy, who legal name is Devarius Dontez Moore, was arrested on weapons charges Wednesday after police served the 30-year-old a federal warrant. However, police were surprised to also find a caged tiger cub inside the rapper's Oak Cliff home during a search. Animal Services was called to come collect the tiger during Moore's arrest, according to the Dallas Morning News , and the tiger is currently being held in protective custody at an undisclosed location. This tiger cub was found when Dallas police were assisting federal agents with a warrant at the home of Devarius Dontez Moore known as Rapper Trapboy Freddy.
