Faysal Shafaat Faysal Shafaat Photo by Monty Brinton Former University of Tennessee at Chattanooga football player Faysal Shafaat became the ninth houseguest evicted on Thursday night's episode of the CBS reality show "Big Brother" by a vote of 4-1. He had one last Hail Mary, but didn't pull out the win. After he was evicted, Shafaat competed in a battle back competition for a chance to return to the game with Scottie Salton, Angie "Rockstar" Lantry and Bayleigh Dayton, the past three houseguests evicted before Shafaat. The competition was called "Big Top Drop," and the competitors had to be the first to grab four spinning balls of their corresponding color and drop them in a tube. Shafaat started out with the lead but was passed by Salton, who reentered the house at the end of Thursday's episode. Shafaat played a loyal game. He was dependable for his alliance and picked up two Power of Veto wins and one Head of Household win. Before the battle back competition, he sat down for … [Read more...] about Shafaat knocked out of ‘Big Brother’

Culture In the past, Big Brother has welcomed viewer involvement by adding twists in the summer game. This season is no different, giving viewers what may be the most control they have had so far. On Thursday night, host Julie Chen explained that the game will work a little differently this season, allowing viewers to vote to keep their favorite and least favorite houseguests “trending.” The idea of a “trending” houseguest sticks closely with Big Brother 20’s theme of technology. The decor of the house along with tech-themed competitions, designed to represent technology and its advancements since the early 1990s, has created a viewer experience that is both personably relatable and current to the world around them. So how does it work? Viewers can vote to change the status of their favorite houseguest by using the “BB App Store” via Facebook Messenger, Kik or Skype, according to CBS. PEORIA, Ariz. (AP) — Clayton Kershaw's spring debut was quick and efficient. The Los Angeles Dodgers ace retired the Seattle Mariners' first three hitters on 11 pitches on Sunday. He then headed to the bullpen and threw another 15 or so pitches in a simulated inning. "I felt good. It's good to get back out there," Kershaw said. "I felt better doing this one than I did in bullpens or stuff like that. With the crowd, facing a different team, it helps a little bit. Glad to get back out there. Even though it was just one inning, it felt good to get back out there." Kershaw was pitching for the first time since a four-inning relief stint in the Dodgers' 5-1 loss to Houston in Game 7 of the World Series on Nov. 1. The lefty, who turns 30 during spring training, went 18-4 with a 2.31 ERA in the regular season and then 3-1 in his five postseason starts. He was the Game 1 winner in the World Series, but blew a four-run lead and didn't make it out of the fifth inning of Game 5, which the … [Read more...] about Kershaw sharp; Seager brothers face off for 1st time in bigs
