BOSTON (CBS) — After a year without Swan Boats in Boston because of the pandemic, the popular attraction is returning to the Public Garden lagoon. Acting Mayor Kim Janey announced that the Swan Boats will start back up again for the 2021 season on Saturday, May 8 at 10 a.m. Masks will be required to ride the Swan Boats in accordance with COVID health guidelines, and passengers will be socially distanced. Bars and restaurants across the state will be allowed to stay open until midnight — the latest curfew since the beginning of the pandemic. (CNN) Over the past year, New Zealand has been celebrated for its handling of the Covid-19 pandemic . As other countries battled months-long lockdowns and hospital systems on the brink of collapse, New Zealand imposed a five-week nationwide lockdown before returning to something resembling normality. Although borders have been closed to foreigners for more than a year, music festivals and weddings have gone ahead. The country has reported around 2,500 cases and 26 deaths.
