DENVER (CBS4) – A world famous attraction could soon be coming to the heart of Denver, at least that’s one idea for how to rejuvenate Civic Center Park. The park being Denver’s first historic landmark, this would be the first major contribution or addition to the park in more than 100 years. “The central gathering feature is right in the middle of the park and would become a key feature focal point,” said Mark Bernstein, a spokesman at Denver Parks and Recreation. NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — New York takes another step on the road to reopening Thursday. Nearly a year after the lockdown began, stadiums and arenas with a capacity of 10,000 people or more can welcome back spectators. As CBS2’s John Dias reported, there will be plenty of restrictions in place. The Barclays Center plans to open with a few hundred fans , working its way up to 10% capacity. It will also open two hours early to get fans safely inside. The Brooklyn Nets take on the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday night. LEESPORT, Pa. (CBS/AP) — A Pennsylvania facility used by the U.S. government to detain asylum-seeking immigrants has released several families and is no longer holding children and parents, according to activists and U.S. Sen. Bob Casey. The Berks County Residential Center outside Reading was one of three family detention centers in the U.S. that held children and parents who are seeking asylum or who entered the country illegally. Activists have long called for the detention center’s closure. Connecticut Democrats are intent on attempting to regulate faith-based pregnancy centers with another bill that essentially accuses the pro-life centers of trying to deceive women about the services they provide.The legislature’s public health committee is holding a public hearing Wednesday on SB 835, An Act Concerning Deceptive Advertising Practices of Limited Services Pregnancy Centers, a measure that pro-life leaders in the state defeated for the last three years. According to a report at the Hartford Courant, state Sen.
