Meyer's future with the Buckeyes has been unclear since he was placed on administrative leave with pay when that probe began. Here is what we know as Meyer, on administrative league since Aug. 1, awaits a decision by school president Michael V. Drake: OSU Board of Trustees receive the report first No timetable has been released by the university, but the trustees are expected to receive the report early in the week and then they must provide 24 hours public notice of a meeting. After deliberation with the board, Drake will make his announcement. Meyer could be suspended, fired or be reinstated. Here's what we know so far as the university begins its investigation. Meyer and Smith's history Smith worked under Meyer as a graduate assistant intern at Florida from 2007-2009 before joining Meyer at Ohio State in 2012. Smith also is tied to Meyer through his grandfather, the late Ohio State coach Earle Bruce. Meyer began his coaching career as an assistant under Bruce at Ohio State in 1986. Meyer was put on leave following a report that he knew about domestic violence allegations against assistant coach Zach Smith in 2015. Smith was fired in July after the allegations came to light, and Meyer previously denied knowing about the allegations.Ohio State has placed Meyer on paid leave while they investigate the claims. Almost everyone knows him as a standout 6-foot, 3-inch defensive end recruited by Urban Meyer to play for the Ohio State Buckeyes starting this fall. But Smith will be the first to tell you football isn't everything. He's also proud of his 4.0 grade-point average and about speaking out about issues affecting the black community.
