Two snowstorms are barreling down on Denver this week. The first storm should arrive later Tuesday and another round Thursday evening. Monday will be the driest day of the week with sun and a high around 50 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. Scattered light snow or flurries will develop across the Front Range Mountains and Foothills late this afternoon and evening, becoming more widespread tonight. It will drop below freezing overnight with snow totaling up to two inches in the mountains with a dusting to half an inch possible in Denver. Roads may become slick in the high country, while it is unlikely to stick at lower elevations. Tuesday will start somewhat dry before a chance of snow, rain and a wintry mix. A high of 47 degrees will keep any snow from sticking and will push some of the weather into rain. Denver weather: Where and when snow impacts will be heaviest this week
Denver’s extended forecast calls for a chance of snow every day for the foreseeable future. The wet and wintery mix begins Tuesday when the metro area could see around an inch of snow accumulation. Tuesday will be 46 degrees with a 40% chance of precipitation, according to the National Weather Service. Winds could reach 20 mph, and any rain will all switch over to snow after 9 p.m. with a 70% chance of precipitation overnight. The heaviest snow and most of the travel impacts with the evening round of precipitation are expected to occur on the eastern slopes of the Front Range Mountains, extending northeast into the northern foothills. Snowfall totals could range between four and eight inches, with locally heavier amounts in the higher terrain of Larimer County. Roads across the state, including along the Interstate 25 corridor, will be impacted. GARDNER (CBS) – Winter and Spring collided in central and western Massachusetts Friday, as several inches of snow fell in some towns. Part of the eastbound side was shut down briefly in Natick after a tractor trailer rolled on its side. On Route 9 in Wellesley, an SUV drove off the road and up an embankment near Cedar Street. New York City’s Newest COVID Vaccine Site Opens With Rocky Start, As Hardest Hit Communities Still Struggle To Get Appointments
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — New York City’s newest COVID vaccine site was created to address racial disparities, but its grand opening was met with major problems Wednesday. When home health aid and East New York resident Evette Reid found out about the new site opening close to home, she was elated. But now, she’s just late. “I reached here early to get my shot and go to work. Now, I’m late for work and didn’t get my shot,” she told CBS2’s John Dias. Reid was one of many left waiting in the cold outside Teachers Preparatory High School in Brownsville and then turn away.
