Michael Brice-Saddler, The Washington Post January 9, 2019 Two North Carolina women have been charged with sexual battery and second-degree kidnapping of a transgender woman in the bathroom of a North Carolina bar, Raleigh police said. The altercation took place Dec. 9 at Milk Bar in downtown Raleigh, according to an offense report and 911 call made the next day. The caller, whose name was not released, reported that two women taunted, groped and exposed themselves to an unnamed victim in the bathroom. It was not clear whether the call was made by the victim or someone who witnessed the alleged assault. The Associated Press reported that the victim was a 29-year-old transgender woman. Police in North Carolina turned to the public for help after a firework was hurled towards a cocktail lounge early Wednesday morning, injuring at least one person. Asheville police released surveillance video of the incident, which showed patrons sitting in the outdoor section of the Rankin Vault Cocktail Lounge as the explosives were thrown. Harry Anderson, the actor best known for playing an off-the-wall judge working the night shift of a Manhattan court room in the television comedy series "Night Court," was found dead in his North Carolina home Monday. Anderson was 65. A statement from the Asheville Police Department said officers responded to a call from Anderson's home early Monday and found him dead. The statement said foul play is not suspected. On "Night Court," Anderson played Judge Harry T. Stone, a young jurist who professed his love for singer Mel Torme, actress Jean Harlow, magic tricks and his collection of art-deco ties.He also starred in the series "Dave's World" and appeared on "Cheers" as con man Harry "The Hat" Gittes.
