Could Thor be the missing piece in the Bronx? Over the last few weeks, Jacob deGrom has been connected in trade rumors to the Yankees. Part of the initial reason: Noah Syndergaard is young and generally viewed as having the higher upside moving forward. But things have evolved. The Mets seem more willing to move Syndergaard and are asking for a package the Yankees likely aren't willing to meet for deGrom. So what could a potential Syndergaard deal to the Yankees deal look like? Bleacher Report put together a trade involving four of the best Yankees prospects, including center fielder Estevan Florial. The others: RHP Luis Medina, RHP Cody Carroll, OF Billy McKinney. That package includes four of the top 16 prospects in the Yankees system. Here's what the site said about the offer. Assuming the Yankees won't be willing to part with rookie infielders Gleyber Torres or Miguel Andujar, the centerpiece of a Syndergaard blockbuster would have … [Read more...] about MLB trade rumors: Mets’ Noah Syndergaard to Yankees for Estevan Florial-led package?
NEW YORK -- Adding Mets stud righty Noah Syndergaard would go over well in the Yankees' clubhouse, his former teammate said. "If he were to be an addition to our team," Yankees infielder Neil Walker said Tuesday in the clubhouse at Yankee Stadium, "it would be well-received." How Frazier's maturity is impressing Yankees Of course, it would seem only in a dream that the Yankees and Mets could match up for a blockbuster trade. The Mets surely would be sick watching Syndergaard dominate in the Bronx. And the Yankees would probably have to surrender more than most other teams to attain him from their rival neighbors -- call it a city tax. But listening Walker, who was with the Mets for Syndergaard's All-Star 2016 campaign and part of 2017, makes it sound like the 6-foot-6 fireballer might be worth the price. "Noah is one of the rare guys in baseball that can just completely overpower a whole lineup," Walker said. "Not just one time through, two times through -- I've … [Read more...] about Mets’ Noah Syndergaard would fit well with Yankees, ex-teammate says

By Carla Baranauckas President Donald Trump said Tuesday that he doesn’t want children taken away from parents at the border. And that caused Trevor Noah of “The Daily Show” to ask, “Why would Trump hate the policy that he himself made?” Noah went on to explain that if the president wants to change his policy, he must first get the approval of his most trusted advisers. “The problem is the members of Trump’s TV Cabinet team, like, they seem to be fine with everything that is happening,” Noah said of a collection of Fox News personalities. Despite winning their last two games, the New York Mets sit at 30-38, 10.5 games behind the first-place Atlanta Braves in the National League East. As the July 31 non-waiver trade deadline draws closer, it becomes more and more likely GM Sandy Alderson will be selling off pieces of his team to contenders. The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal reports the Mets are ready to wheel and deal, but with certain conditions: The Mets are ready to entertain trade offers for virtually everyone on their roster, according to sources, but prefer to keep their best, controllable players -- shortstop Amed Rosario, outfielders Brandon Nimmo and Michael Conforto, right-handers Seth Lugo and Robert Gsellman and yes, staff ace Jacob deGrom. A team interested in deGrom would need to part with a "boatload" of talent, one source said. The Mets would be more open on right-hander Noah Syndergaard, who has not pitched since May 25 due to a strained ligament in his right finger. Syndergaard is under … [Read more...] about MLB trade rumors: Mets’ Jacob deGrom, Noah Syndergaard are available … for a ‘boatload’ of talent
