From behind a news desk, fourth-graders Maxwell Reiserer and Katelee Dodd anchored the weekly news show. The pair served as the faces of DHE-K4 News, but nearly 30 students were involved. "We didn't want the job. We got picked for it, which was pretty cool," Dodd said. "It might look like hard work, but it is fun." Principal Chris Parker, who retires this summer, created the broadcast journalism class in early 2017 and recruited students interested in reporting, writing, filming, editing and producing the weekly show. She viewed the show as an innovative learning laboratory. They practiced technical and communication skills. Facebook Inc. is close to announcing a first crop of news shows for its video platform Watch that will likely include content from Fox News and CNN, capping months of turbulent talks and several strategy shifts by the social-media company, people familiar with the matter said.
