After practice Friday morning and before getting on the plane for Tennessee Saturday morning for Sunday's game against the Titans, New England Patriots linebacker Kyle Van Noy and his wife Marissa are going to the movies. It's not exactly date night. The Van Noys are taking 100 kids from Wonderfund of Massachusetts to see "Instant Family." The movie, which is based on a true story, stars Mark Wahlberg, a Patriots fan, and Rose Byrne as a couple interested in adopting, who end up adopting three siblings. The Friday night outing is a joint venture between Wonderfund, a non-profit that works with "children engaged with the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families" and the Van Noy Valor Foundation which has a goal of "Armoring adopted, disadvantaged and foster children for success." The New England Patriots 2018 season has gotten off to a very rocky start. The defending AFC champions suffered a 26-10 loss to the Detroit Lions Sunday night, their second consecutive loss. The Patriots are 1-2 and have lost two of their first three games for the first time since 2012. The Patriots offense and defense looked terrible in the loss to the Lions. Quarterback Tom Brady completed just 14 passes and threw for a measley 113 yards in the game. Brady's completion total was his lowest since Week 17 of the 2015 season. Brady was out of sync in the game and never looked comfortable, sometimes flinging passes into spaces where no Patriots player had ventured.
