Yellowstone says foot in hot spring linked to July 31 death
HELENA, Mont. (AP) — A part of a human foot found in a shoe floating in a hot spring in the southern part of Yellowstone National Park earlier this week is believed to be linked to a July 31 death, park officials said Friday. While the investigation continues, foul play is not suspected. The shoe was recovered from Abyss Pool on Tuesday, park officials reported. News of that discovery led a man from Maryland to contact the National Park Service to report that he and his family had spotted a shoe, floating sole up, in the hot spring on the morning of Aug. 11. Chris Quinn of Pasadena, Maryland, said he sent a photo of the shoe to the park service. While the park service did not confirm it was the same type of shoe found Tuesday, Quinn said he would be surprised if it's not related to the same incident. The complex, called Vyne on Haven, is set for the northwest corner of Haven Road and First Street. In January, the City Council unanimously approved it . Golden was left partially paralyzed after he was shot trying to break up a fight at a Beverly bar when he was off-duty. He has been undergoing rehab. Officials in Los Angeles announced Thursday with great fanfare that they had made 14 arrests in connection with recent “mass looting” events in the city — but all fourteen have since been released from jail, either with or without posting bail. The Los Angeles Times reported : After a spate of brazen smash-and-grab robberies left Los Angeles-area retailers and shoppers on edge last month, officials announced Thursday that they had arrested 14 suspects in connection with the crimes. Mayor Eric Garcetti and Los Angeles Police Chief Michel Moore, joined by other officials and members of the business community at LAPD headquarters, said none of the 14 suspects remains in custody. One of the suspects is a juvenile, Moore said. The others either posted bail or were released without bail.
