EXCLUSIVE: For Leslie Carroll , it's easy to understand why seeing Prince Philip on stage was one of the best nights of her life. It was October 2005 and the royal author was attending a black-tie gala dinner at London’s Guildhall as part of a week-long celebration honoring the bicentenary of the Battle of Trafalgar – known as the legendary British naval victory against a combined French and Spanish fleet under Admiral Lord Nelson. The event was a fundraiser for the Seafarers’ Charity, formerly Seafarers UK, of which the Duke of Edinburgh was a royal patron. The nonprofit supports those who’ve worked at sea and have fallen on hard times. "Philip rose and spoke for 20-25 minutes with tremendous passion and clarity, and without a single note in front of … [Read more...] about Prince Philip was a ‘model’ royal husband who ‘supported his wife in everything’ as a consort, author says

‘Year Of Transition’: Suit Shops Say Work Wardrobe Will Now Reflect Hybrid Model

BOSTON (CBS) – Fancy suits, shoes and ties normally keep retailers busy year-round, but this was no normal year. “I have an extensive suit collection that the moths are using more than me,” Paul Walsh of Newton said. With big weddings and galas canceled, office buildings closed and people working remotely, many stores selling men’s suits had to tailor their situations. “We did see a bit of a trend towards more casual stuff. Sport coats, button down shirts, polos to the office,” said John Airasian of Eastern Clothing of Watertown. Katz said the minute he reopened last June he had to expand his sportswear presentation. “We really geared things for people working at home. We have great Zoom shirts. The wardrobe for work in the near future is also going to reflect this hybrid model,” Katz said. … [Read more...] about ‘Year Of Transition’: Suit Shops Say Work Wardrobe Will Now Reflect Hybrid Model

Cops can’t be forced to return marijuana in failed drug cases, Colorado Supreme Court says

The Colorado Supreme Court on Monday ruled that law enforcement officers cannot be forced to return marijuana to defendants even after they are acquitted of pot crimes because doing so would force officers to be marijuana “distributors” and violate federal law. The ruling overturns a decision by the Colorado Court of Appeals, which ruled that police officers must return marijuana to defendants who win court decisions related to illegal marijuana possession in Colorado. Forcing Colorado law enforcement officials to return marijuana to defendants after they win a court case would cause them to break the federal Controlled Substances Act, said the ruling written by Colorado Supreme Court Judge Allison Eid. Eid has been mentioned as a possible U.S. Supreme Court nominee by President Donald Trump. “The return provision requires law enforcement officers to return, or distribute, marijuana,” the decision says.  “Thus compliance with the return provision necessarily requires law … [Read more...] about Cops can’t be forced to return marijuana in failed drug cases, Colorado Supreme Court says

Jason C. Johnson: Repealing the police ‘Bill of Rights’ was wrong – Don’t follow Maryland’s lead

close Video Fox News Flash top headlines for April 12 Fox News Flash top headlines are here. Check out what's clicking on Foxnews.com. PROGRAMMING ALERT: Watch author Jason C. Johnson discuss this topic and more on Monday, April 12 on "Fox New Primetime" at 7 p.m. EDT on Fox News Channel. Police accountability matters – that’s why Gov. Larry Hogan was right to veto much of Maryland’s so-called ‘police reform’ legislation last week. Unfortunately, the Democratic supermajorities in the state legislature almost immediately overrode his veto and passed this bad bill into law. As reported by FoxNews.com , Maryland approved the nation’s first Law Enforcement Officers Bill of Rights in 1974, and about 20 states have adopted similar laws, setting due process procedures for investigating police misconduct. Maryland is the first to repeal the law. Maryland’s leaders will have to learn the lesson the hard way while other states like California … [Read more...] about Jason C.
