The Information Technology Ministry may not be in favour of linking Aadhaar with social media profiles under the reasoning that it clashes with earlier judgements on privacy and use of the biometric identification card has to be carefully thought over before any decision to let it be used on public platforms like social media. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has sought suggestions from stakeholders for certification of online content. Prakash Javadekar, the Minister of I&B asked for the suggestions during an event to unveil a new logo and certificate design of Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) in Mumbai on Saturday. The minister did not give out further details in this regard during the event which was organised by CBFC Mumbai.Javadekar “invited suggestions and recommendations from audience and other stakeholders regarding certification of online content”, according to a press release.Currently, there are no regulations in place to certify or censor online-streaming content. However, in the beginning of this year, nine streaming services voluntarily signed a self-regulation code namely “Code of Best Practices for Online Curated Content Providers”. National ministry leaders, spearheaded by InterVarsity and Cru, are working together in unprecedented ways to bring revival on college campuses across the country. Their strategy: prayer, "boots on the ground" and data-sharing to give real-time information to ministry partners intent on bringing the gospel to local campuses. Their goal this year: prayer walk all 4,948 campuses in the US. So far, they've reached close to half with walks on 2,278 campuses. DTH subscribers in India are said to be saving between 10 to 15 percent of their money on subscription costs in metro cities, thanks to the new TRAI framework. Figures provided by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in the Monsoon session of the newly elected Lok Sabha claim that TV viewers across the country have benefited from the new regulatory framework that was first notified by Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) in March 2017. The framework was later re-notified along with an implementation schedule in July last year.The ministry has further said that not just metro-residents but even non-metro subscribers are saving somewhere between 5 to 10 percent. The information was presented in the Lok Sabha by the ministry in response to a question asked by M. K.
