MIDWEST CITY — The public is invited to a grand opening celebration for the newly renovated Optimist Park. The city of Midwest City Parks and Recreation Department will host the celebration at 5 p.m. Wednesday at the park, 1001 S Westminster Road. The renovation began in the spring, and construction was performed by crews from parks and recreation, as well as street maintenance. The renovation features new, innovative playground equipment. Optimist Park has two play areas, including an area for children ages 2 to 5 years old, and an area for children ages 5 to 12.
