Viewed through a much wider prism that reflects our actual news consumption, it’s apparent that we know little about media trust writ large. The focus on domestic political news as a category is important to help assess the quality of our civic life, so that achieving a high level of trust always should be an aspirational benchmark. But we also must keep this category of news in perspective.
