Credit: Courtesy of Austin Oslack Last weekend, a group of Ohio State graduate students and their faculty adviser were awarded $40,000 in funding in the Smart Campus Challenge, a sustainability competition hosted by the Ohio State Energy Partners. Their concept: to install Ecosia — a search engine where 80 percent of ad revenue generated by internet searches is used to fund organizations that plant trees around the world — as the default search engine onto 30,000 Ohio State campus computers. Courtesy: 500 Firms at Ohio State Student organizations 500 Firms and CEO @ Ohio State announced Monday they are bringing Roger Rawlins, CEO of major footwear retailer DSW, to campus next week. 500 Firms aims to empower students to achieve their career goals through weekly collaborations and job-hacking workshops. CEO @ Ohio State aims to inspire students to seek out leadership positions by inviting CEOs of large companies to campus to present their stories and give advice. The two groups host two executives every semester. Patterson, one of the state’s top prospects, is back on the recruiting marketplace, announcing his decommitment from Ohio State following his squad’s 38-28 triumph over the Tigers. “Yes (I did decommit),” said Patterson, a four-star linebacker who was No. 1 on the 2018 Tennessean Dandy Dozen — a collection of the Nashville area’s top senior college football prospects.
