Brave, the privacy-focused web browser, is currently preparing to launch its own search engine for desktop and mobile users, according to recent reports. The company’s goal is to offer a complete package of browsing and search untouchable by the Masters of the Universe. TechCrunch reports that Brave, the privacy-focused browser co-founded by former Mozilla CEO Brendan Eich, is preparing to launch its own search engine. Last week Brave announced the acquisition of an open-source search engine developed by the team behind the Cliqz anti-tracking search-browser combo. At Least 30,000 U.S. Organizations Compromised Through Microsoft Exploit
At least 30,000 U.S. governmental and commercial organizations have been hacked via a recently discovered Microsoft Exchange Server exploit. One source told the Wall Street Journal that the actual number of organizations impacted could reach 250,000. Cybersecurity experts believe the hackers had access to Microsoft customers’ systems for about two months before the tech giant patched the problem. Breitbart News recently reported that tech giant Microsoft recently warned customers that it believes a Chinese-stated backed hacking group, referred to as Hafnium, has used four previously undisclosed security flaws in Microsoft’s Exchange Server enterprise email product in an attempt to steal private information. Robinhood Moves Toward IPO Despite GameStop Controversy
Stock trading app Robinhood has chosen Nasdaq as the exchange for its IPO this year, despite being embroiled in controversy over its treatment of its customers during the Gamestop trading frenzy and previous problems including trading outages. CNBC reports that the popular day-trading app Robinhood has chosen the Nasdaq as the exchange for its eventual initial public offering, according to sources. The company has not yet filed officially for the listing but is expected to at some point this year. It’s currently unclear whether Robinhood has chosen a direct listing or a traditional IPO, according to sources. Robinhood will likely file an S-1 with the Securities Exchange Commission in the near future, it usually takes one to two months for companies to make their debut once they file with the SEC.
